I've patronized this restaurant for lunch and dinner many times, but recently I tried their endless Italian brunch and it was awesome. Their dining ambiance was comfortable and relaxing. The service was excellent and the owner is such a lovely woman (also black woman owned business). If you love fine upscale dining and Italian food this is the place. Their charcuterie and meats are high quality and great tasting. The desserts are phenomenal. I look forward to coming back to dine again soon.
As a St Louis native, I love good Italian food and it’s always interesting to visit other cities to see where they set the bar. La Tomate does an all around good job and the food was very good. The decor was nice but not noteworthy. Service was great. Would be happy to go back, but will keep looking for the noteworthy Italian place in DC.
We called in to order the Groupon four-course for four people for pickup. The whole bag was ready in about 30 minutes. It was average busy for lunch the day before the Thanksgiving long weekend. The dishes were still warm after another 30 minutes of driving to work. We expected four with some olive oil and vinegar but not just two bread rolls. Caesar salads were good for four people. Rigatoni with red meat sauce were barely met four people. The roasted boneless lamb were tender and juicy. The tiramisu were well made and delicious, which became the best of this package.
Presentation was good. The food was above average. You can find better. Service was patient and fast. A popular spot for many people with indoor and outdoor seating in DuPont. Decent portion sizes for the price.
We went all out here with appetizers and dessert and had a really lovely meal. The prosciutto and cheese selections were exceptional and the homemade pastas are really good. I had cacio e pepe and my sister had the ravioli- both full of flavor and well prepared. I would definitely recommend this place!
I went with friends after passing by it so many times and seeing all the super cute decor. I got the Pasta al Nero which was good, though I would advise others that the food in general is on the expensive side. I would bump my rating to a 5 but our waiter was passive aggressive at times. They got one of my friends order wrong and she ended up having to pay for a $30 dish when she wanted a $14 one.
A restaurant with a french name that serves only italian food, serving italian food that wasn’t done properly in anyway. Didn’t enjoy and it the dishes that I ordered. The bread was under fermented and under baked, the salmon and the soup weren’t seasoned and the Tiramisu was plain.
Lovely Italian spot in Dupont. Service is good. For those who like to be frugal the Mon-Fri 11am-3pm menu is best. You MUST specify BEFORE you begin to order that you are doing the 3 course meal option otherwise you will be charged a la carte (individually paying for each item) which will be more expensive. The 3 course includes an appetizer, main course, and dessert for $34. The serving sizes are not tiny but they are not large either. If you are super hungry it may not fill you up. The Salmon is wonderful, perfectly cooked with a small serving of sugar snap peas, and asparagus. All in all it is fresh, good quality food that is appropriately priced. Wonderful spot! Must go.
I ate there 2 weeks ago but forgot to leave a review. Take this with a grain of salt.
Soup of the day: I don’t remember what it was but it was delicious. Rigatoni Calabrese (picture included): it was a delight. The special: I tried a bit of my friend’s. It was a rigatoni with ground pork I think. It was absolutely amazing and so flavorful. I wish I had gotten it instead. Unfortunately it is not part of the 3 course meal. Chocolate Mousse: I was not a fan and did not finish it Tiramisu: Delicious

Just okay.
The presentation was nice, flavor was "okay" .
Certainly other options with more wow factor for the same or likely less cost.
Bring some bread with you, the generously salted scone left much to be desired.
The hostess on the other hand was a delight
