Higher Grounds Coffee

Higher grounds is a cute name and it’s a convenient location for the resort we stayed in but the cinnamon roll was lacking cinnamon and our coffees were pretty weak on flavor. We went to Boulder Coffee and their cinnamon roll was awesome, lots of cinnamon and nuts. I say it’s worth the drive to the Main Street area.

Really good coffee, it is pricey and sometimes very crowded they do have seating outside too which is nice

I love to have a beautiful, cozy, delicious treats at this new to me coffee shop. Recommended by good friends that are long life locals. Everyone is so sweet and warm. Except of course that one person that has energy that will snap at you. Luckily she was never my attendant for a week long business until today. She’s inpatient, she’s una rush, she wants to be alpha or maybe she’s burnout. It doesn’t matter, nothing justified to treat a sweet mother, a sweet little girl and sweet grandma with cold attitude, inpatient behavior and semi warm coffee. I think her name is Tania. She might need a vacation.

Staff was super friendly. Everything looks really good and fresh. Calm vibe. My wife and I both got bagels. They were tasty, but we're pretty sure they were just Thomas' Bagels that we can get at the store. The banana bread was ok. My wife had a honey latte that she really enjoyed. Go for the hot beverages.

Came from out of state always looking for small town coffee shops! Great coffee

Great beverages, great food and awesome atmosphere.

I am a frequent visitor to Pagosa springs and absolutely love all it has to offer, it was very disappointing to come to Higher grounds and be treated like garbage by the little blonde girl with hickies on her neck. Not only did she have zero interest in her job with a very rude attitude she got our order completely wrong, I will not be heading back there anytime soon.

Great little coffee spot. Super convenient if you're staying at Club Wyndham.

Really comfortable atmosphere and a very friendly staff. We will definitely be back when we come back to Pagosa.

We got:
- Double shot of espresso... VERY smooth and not too bitter.
- Peppermint mocha frappe with 4 shots of espresso... Not too sweet, could taste all the FLAVORS!
- Autumn Fog... Really unique, hard to explain.

I got The Jake sandwich which was super tasty! I didn't know it would come with chips which was a nice surprise. Unfortunately they have different menu items there vs what you find online but not a big deal.

I really like the vibe and atmosphere of this place. Apparently they have live music sometimes and I appreciate the fact that all of their staff are wearing masks and social distancing in the coffee house.

I also like the fact that they offer some gluten free options as well like in terms of their baked goods!
