Great place. We stopped in here almost every morning we were in town and tried several of their drink and food options (both cooked and pre-made goods).
The coffee was solid. Nothing was too sweet or overpowering, letting the flavors of the coffee itself come through. The scones were nice and crumbly, the burrito was filling, and the quiche was quite well prepared.

Fantastic little shop with a great staff, vibe and most importantly coffee. They have a good selection of gluten free bakery items as well. If you are in Pagosa Springs, this is a must try place!

Went several times during our visit to Pagosa Springs. Service - spot on! Coffee - yum. Food - do try the "House Bagel" - Everything Bagel, spinach, tomato, cucumber and veggie cream cheese. SO good!. Husband had the Breakfast sandwich on croissant, with sausage and peppers jack. He really enjoyed that with his Latte w sugar free syrups. We will go again. Highly recommend.

My husband and I had the chai tea latte and the creme brulee latte. Both were amazing! We also enjoyed the French toast and breakfast sandwich.

I love this place. When we are in Pagosa, we go there every day. Their scones are delicious - some of the best I've had, coffee is great and the staff is friendly. They have a little book exchange/library and regular customers that just come to sit with a coffee and read. I love it.

As someone who works at a really good local coffee shop out of state, I have really high standards for coffee. But Higher Grounds was amazing!! When I got there (9:30 Monday morning) the line was literally out the door but the workers were still nice and didn’t seem too stressed out although I wouldn’t blame them at all if they were bc of how busy it was. There’s a lot of space and tables in there and the vibe is so cute and looks like a good place to sit and chat/read. I got the iced alpine latte 1/2 sweet and it was perfect and not too sweet at all. 10/10 would come back every day if I wasn’t just a tourist

Best pastries! Delicious quiche which you can tell by the crust is homemade. Outdoor patio which welcomed our dogs. Absolutely stop here when hungry and in Pagosa Springs!

This place gets busy but it's easy to see why! Great food, average coffee, good vibes. Enjoyed that it wasn't full of tourists/screaming kids!

This place was alright. The coffee was alright but for my tastes I couldn't taste it over the other drink flavors. The scone that we ordered was super plain, dry, and mushy, it was horrible. The quiche was really good, though it had way too much salt. The breakfast sandwich was really good and the apple fritter was incredible! The service was good and the atmosphere and facilities were really nice. The price was a little high for some of the things that wasn't good, but otherwise it was reasonable. I would probably not come back here and would recommend that others go to another coffee house.

Extremely rude. Baked good was disgusting and hard as a rock, tossed it. Never going back!
