My experience at the Local Coffee House wasn’t what I expected. I was recommended by a lot of locals to come here because it’s good and more affordable. I ordered a very simple breakfast meal and it came out cold, undercooked, and missing some of the ingredients. The service was also super slow to get to fix anything. It was a pricey meal for not a great experience. Maybe caught them on an off day!

go here for a cuppa. Best espresso in aspen. I cant comment on anything else, but what else are we here for? oh yeah, brekkies are legit
bring your own cup for 25% discount.
expect an automatically included 22% service charge and a high level of barista blasé. it IS a coffee spot in Aspen, and cafe pretention is rampant worldwide, regardless of class or quality.

Super Rude Staff!
I came here to get some work done and asked for a tea. When the cashier rang up my tea, I noticed that 20 percent service fee had been applied even though I didn’t select it and there was no where to unselect it. When I asked the cashier what the service fee was for, she didn’t have an answer and instead loudly said, “I guess I can take it off for you if you don’t want to pay the service fee.” I said, “yes” because this is a serve yourself coffee shop where you get your own drinks from the bar area and they only serve to-go so you throw out the drinks yourself. It’s inappropriate to charge customers a service fee automatically that they are unable to change themselves without verbally telling the cashier.
Next, the blonde girl in the fur vest (in the picture) is a staff member who literally fell into me while she walking from the “members only” area. For context I was sitting in the blue chair and they have an unmarked curtain for members vs non members area behind the chair that staff uses to walk through. She fell onto me and spilled drinks on herself and me and didn’t apologize or check to see if I was ok.
Finally, the area I was sitting in was covered in crumbs and random garbage and when I asked the staff if they would be able to wipe it down they looked confused and annoyed.
Don’t go here!!! So rude and classless.

This is a cute coffee shop, kind of hipster 😜The food is creative and healthy. Very delicious. The menu is short. You order over the counter and bus your table. The line could be long but it moves fast.
It’s nice sitting on the patio if you find a vacant table.

Nice place and good ambience. It’s in downtown Aspen and a great location. You can sit there and eat or take it to go. We got the breakfast bagel, avocado toast and a Mocha. It’s a little on the pricier side but so is all of Aspen. I’d definitely recommend the place.

This used to be one of my favorite breakfast places in Aspen. Their breakfast sandwich was out of this world! Unfortunately food is something that they no longer serve at Local Coffee House. It is now only served at the Here House club next to it.
So to get my hands on my beloved breakfast sandwich again I would have to pay $1800 a year!!!
I will forever remember this place for what it was and not the cash grab it has become.

Local has quickly become my go-to coffee shop in Aspen. You won’t find a friendlier or more attentive staff, always warm and welcoming, always remembering my order. Love the atmosphere, love the food, and it’s the best cup of coffee you’ll find in town. Thank you Local for making me feel like a local. :)

Extraordinarily overpriced. Mandatory 20% service fee, even though no service is provided. They charge this fee and then just put a paper or plastic cup on the counter like Starbucks.
Additionally, in order to “keep Aspen real, accessible, and radically local”, you have to pay a $225/month membership fee in order to sit down. By that twisted definition of “accessible”, they mean only accessible by the rich, and not by the people that actually keep Aspen real.

Here House is amazing! I visited aspen for an extended trip and Here House made it possible to have a place to take a meetings, work on my computer, and participate in carefully curated events to meet great folks and build my network here. In addition, the owners of HH are unbelievable generous and helpful.
I highly recommend Here House for anyone spending time in Aspen looking to establish a work life balance in the mountains. You'll make amazing connections and enjoy the heck out of the events they throw almost every night of the week.
Also, fantastic coffee and fantastic food! Do yourself a favor, join Here House before your next trip to Aspen.
