Amazing pastries, the food/ brunch is less satisfying, looks better than it tastes. Avoid weekends if you don’t like doing lanes. Very pricey as well, we spent over $100 for just breakfast.

Stunning location and best, most beautiful avocado toast I’ve ever had. The passion fruit coconut lime bar and matcha raspberry Paris Brest are also delicious. Kitchen looks immaculate. Definitely recommend. Only deducted a star because ordering process was a little confusing and stressful.

This is my go to spot everytime I'm in LA. Always my first place to eat when I land because I usually take the red-eye and I want a breakfast/ brunch meal. Always great food. Never a complaint. The pictures that you are about to see reflect all the food I ate at Republique since 2017.

So let's get this out of the way first. Waited in the rain a 1/2 hour to get in and spent over $100 for just breakfast and.....it was totally worth it. Clever choices of breakfast dishes well over and above the usual fare. A pupusa was a wonderful surprise. Fantastic bread and too many pastries to choose from. Reminded me what breakfast could be. Not to mention the space is beautiful. Don't be in a rush and treat yourself. Highly recommended.

Still dreaming about the amazing pastries I had here. Truly unforgettable and this was the highlight of our LA trip.

République is a dining destination. Must visit if you come to LA. Tried brunch on the last week of December. Long lines which seems to keep getting longer, parked on a meter a few blocks away. There is a express/to-go window if you want to grab a coffee and simple pastries. The selection is very limited. The line moves steadily so be patient.

I quickly ordered a bunch of pastries to-go while waiting in line to order food for 3 people. The food order will be taken at the register. If you’re planning to dine inside, you might have to wait for a table to be available but seems like the turnover is pretty quick. Again, be patient.

Food:
Breakfast burger (not shown in photos) 👍👍👍
French Omelette 👍👍👍
Avocado Toast 👍👍👍
*everything was plated beautifully

Drink:
HK milk tea (served hot) 👍👍👍 right amount of sweetness and on point.

Pastries:
Brown butter Oatmeal cookie - best cookie I’ve ever had. Amazing flavor and texure even the day after
Ube Bundt Cake - very pretty but nothing special
Fruit Tart - good nothing special
Kouign Amann filled with raspberry - so good
Canelé - since it’s my favorite french pastry, they did it really well. Might be the best one I’ve had. Best eaten when it’s fresh.

Service and staff were great including the food runners. The second order I politely made for additional pastries because I had to get more Canelés to go: I encountered a snobbish service lady who grabbed my pastry order and clearly was not happy when I bothered her for an additional order and this was right after she was helping another customer. Honestly, she kinda left a sour ending to the excellent experience I had here. Despite that, being a huge and extremely busy dining establishment, everything was excellent in quality. I’m definitely looking forward to visit again when I’m back in LA. Kudos to the chefs!

I saw the dry aged burger on 'The Burger Show' so I had to try it! It did not disappoint, it tasted exactly as it was described, a dry aged in and out burger, delicious and for $20 it was a deal, including fries, which again were very close to in and out fries! I would definitely recommend and go back again!!!

Cute French cafe with a lot of pastries and cooked food. We got there at 10:45 on a Monday with little wait, but around 11am the line was out the door. You order the food first before finding a seat.

Their pastries are all decent but the sweet ones are very sweet since they’re coated with sugar.

We also ordered kimchi fried rice and shakshuka. The fried rice was good but is more on the wet side. Our shakshuka took so long that we canceled it because at that point we already waited for an hour for it. A bit disappointed at how slow it was.

Republique has been one of my favorite places for brunch and getting pastry in town, but the line has always been long. I decided to go there for a business dinner with a Reservation few days ago but the experience was somehow disappointing. We had a Reservation for two at 830pm in the back dining room but we were told to waited at the bar until 9pm. It was already embarrassing for me to tell my guest, then they offered us to sit at the communal table in the front with everyone passing through us. It was not ideal, so we decided to wait longer for the dining room we originally planned. The hostess told us the guests took much longer to dine that night, but we finally got seated in the table in the dining room almost 40 mins after our original reservation time. Then we had AC blasting on us at the table when it is only 50 degrees outside, and with a big table of drunk guys yelling and shouting next to us. People were wearing coats and jackets on them during dinner! The dining room was beautiful with high ceiling, but we felt like sitting outside in the cold in a loud, random marketplace. Our spot was unbearable, so we had to change. In the end, a table for two in the corner finally opened up, and we moved away from the noise and cold. Finally, we could order but our appetite was pretty much ruined. The food was still exceptional, especially the venison pate, beef cheek and market salad we ordered. The server for our table was very attentive, and helpful. But again, one dish came out cold and the crowd and experience on a regular Thursday night was questionable. With a menu with an entree at average $50 a dish and we spent nearly $200 per person for the night, we did not feel like the experience we had was up to the standards. There are plenty of nicer choices in town for the price point. My recommendations: I would only go back for brunch or day time, keep it casual and less expectation. If you wanna go for a romamtic date or business meal, think twice! Or get a table upstairs away from the noise and enjoy those delicious dishes.

Phenomenal. Not just the food. The architecture. The ambiance. The open kitchens. The service. All phenomenal. The baguette... OMG. I had the Short Rib, fall apart, melt in my mouth. The soft egg, uni, and caviar crostinis. Highly recommend!

Delicious as always. My husband always make it appointment to stop by when we come to LA. It's a must visit. Male sure to check it out.
