Super cute place for baked goods and breakfast. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. Service was very kind and accommodating and went above and beyond for us. I give this place 5 glowing stars!

A pricey visit but personally felt it was absolutely worth it for the pastries and beautiful environment. There is a line but it moved quickly for us, we arrived around 9am Saturday morning and were able to be inside in 5 minutes. However when we left an hour later the line was down the block!
Immediately entering you can view all the delicious pastries and baked goods available, which they don’t list in their online menu. You cannot go wrong with any of your choices!! After you order it’s first come first serve for seats - another reason why coming early works well. The line does move quickly and you may be asked to order before you get the chance to look at everything on display - don’t be afraid to ask for more time :)
We also ordered items from their breakfast menu and coffees - which was delicious but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat again with so many other breakfast choices in LA. I genuinely thought I scammed myself for ordering the mushroom toast lol but it ended up being very filling and a new delicious experience. But all that said, the baked goods and pastries are really a treasure and eating them in this gorgeous high ceiling, open air architectural beauty of a building was an amazing way to start the weekend.

A really nice brunch place to visit —- the food is good, but I personally think the coffee is just okay.
I got the citrus salad and cold brew coffee. The salad is really fresh, and everything goes well with each other. If you like sour flavor, you will enjoy this salad. The mint in the salad is very refreshing, and the nut just piles up the flavor.
The cold brew is just regular cold brew from my point of view; it’s not bad, but I think you can get better coffee elsewhere with the price.
You can see the place is well-organized.

This scoring might surprise those of you who's tried this place, so I'll immediately give the reason for such a mediocre rating: the ceiling leaked! While LA isn't a particularly rainy city, eating in the main hall while having rain drip down to your food and drinks is... Not a particularly pleasant experience.
If I were to judge purely on the food experience and on normal days this place doesn't have much to say except for being quite excellent, well furnished and comfortable to have brunch in. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place whatsoever for any rainy days. Hopefully the can fix the roof leak soon.

An early morning touchdown in LA for a day trip called for breakfast before diving into our program. During our search, Republic Cafe came up highly popular and recommended. Expected heavy early morning LA traffic would not deter us from trying this out, instead of going for a quick bite at a fast food place.
First, the pastry display right at the door, gets your palates doing “get me, get me” 😅 See picture. We ordered our pastry packed in boxes for our hosts. We, of course, got to taste them too! Lol!
We placed our breakfast orders. I went with the Quiche of the Day and my daughter did the avocado toast. Being breakfast, we had hot chamomile and mint teas, respectively. I needed to be calm to deal with LA traffic! Lol!
Service was terrific: quick and efficient. Wait staff were extremely friendly but professional.
The food hit the right notes and gave us the right start for a day that turned quite busy later on.
The busyness of the Republic Cafe, especially early in the morning, is a great testament to the quality of food and service.
We loved the rustic style of the place: from interior decor to table pieces.
The bar is well stocked.
Any time I return to LA, this place will be on my list!

Food is delicious and great service. Definitely worth at least 20% tip, I usually leave less if is a place where I have to stand in line to ask for food but here they are telling you what everything is and give you recommendations if you ask. Also fast to bring food and serve you water plus check on you. Food tasted as good as it looks.

We were there around 11:30am for brunch. Expecting a long queue. Order was little confusing but there are signs and QR code for you to scan etc. we sat outside as we wanted to stay away from people. Food was great. And the pastry was delicious! I also had mocha and green smoothie both were lovely. Staff are friendly.

Holy desserts! They have way more options for desserts than what is listed on their menu. Highly recommend going here for breakfast or brunch, especially if you have a sweet tooth!
Hands down, favorite dessert that we had was their Black Sesame Pastry. Sooooo delicious with floral accents and cream. Totally delicious. Another favorite was the Coconut Lime and Passion Fruit Tart--very sweet and tropical and paired well with some tea.
They usually have a line so a little bit of a wait sometimes, but you pay and seat yourself. We got there around 9 and it wasn't too crowded yet. Around 10 definitely picks up!

Had a fantastic dinner at République. The food is top notch - just really high quality dishes. The menu is inventive, although the “four course” structure threw us off a bit at first, we improvised our way through it and had a magnificent combination of dishes. The wagyu hawk steak was one of the best steaks I’ve eaten recently - celeriac, spinach and potatoes all making it absolutely stunning to eat.
Special mention for the staff - the entire wait staff was super attentive, friendly and gave us great recommendations.
Cannot recommend enough - the one critical note being that it can’t be denied it’s a pricey place to eat. But worth it if you ask us.

The pastries and coffee were amazing. Close to perfect even. The breakfast items we ordered didn't live upto the pastries, but maybe we didn't choose wisely. It lived upto the hype, quality was amazing still and definitely worth a visit.
