Decor is amazing, Ambience is great. Pastries I had were a 4/5. However the burger and fries were pretty disappointing like a 3.4/5. Fries weren't good, they didn't get us salt or pepper, burger wasn't that great. I ended up throwing out half of the food. I would recommend this place for the bakery. Parking outside was pretty bad had valet at 11am. Place was packed.

Customer service from the valet to the cashier needs to improve: 6/10. The valet guys were the first impression, and they failed since they were rude.

Waiting time with NO reservations allowed: We waited in line for around 10 mins to approach the cashier. You order before being seated and choose your seats. I heard you could go straight to the counter to call main dishes if you don't order cakes/bakery ( don't take my word, please double-check with them). Since there were people in line and it was my first time, I just observed and saw a couple of people go straight in, and I thought they cut the waiting line.

Space: pretty big, and they have different areas (front with window views or in the middle, the bar, back, and outdoor seating when you go to the back of the restaurant near the restroom). They also have an area where kids can learn how to bake.

Decorations: beautiful with French style and impressive area at the kitchen/cooking area.

Best place to sit? Front at the windows or the middle of the restaurant to enjoy the ambiance with natural lights and open space.

We ordered: a Belgian Waffle and added some eggs and bacon steak. Also, a slide of cheesecake for dessert, and it was greasy and middle sweet. Basic, but you can get more suggestions from Yelps or photos.

The demographic that surprised me was lots of Korean and other Asians more than group since I'm Asian, and it made me wonder if this place is Korean-owned or what? LOL. I will look into it since I'm curious now. It might be a spot for cute photos or check-in :D

Dress code: When we saw and arrived at the location, we were a bit concerned about how we dressed since we got comfy clothes since it was cold, but some people dressed up. General, people dress; differently, I guess, so it's not a big deal if you aren't here a look decent enough as long as the food is good, right? So go for it!

High-quality food, you pay for what you get. There is no risk to get disappointed. Dry-aged rib burger, fries, the blueberry banana smoothie and cream banana pie was our order and it was all delicious. I'm only sorry that there is no vegan pasty option at least a croissant or palmier. Otherwise all looked great and the atmosphere is nice. You just better be prepared to stand in line for a bit to get in...

Highly recommend their quiche (flavor changes daily), cheese cake, and strawberry passion fruit pie. Madeline was okay, didn’t really like the texture. Really like the ambience here :) Valet parking available for $10.

First visit to the place and glad there were lines long enough to predecide what to eat before sitting down. Potato pancake and Belgium Waffle are what we had. Potato pancake is an acquired taste that blanded pretty well among potatoes, salmon, and soft poached egg. Little more than 6 Salmon roe would have complemented the bland taste of potato pancakes but soft poached egg was able to cover that slightly. I still think more salmon Roe would have been better. Begium Waffles had very fresh and ripped fruits. Overall great tasting breakfast.
The regular coffee were above my expectations as well.

I went there before to grab some pastries, but this time around, I went in for dinner. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes.

We were seated upstairs, which was really cool, though it meant using our phone flashlight to look at the menu because of the dim lights. Be prepared to pay extra for the tasty butter, but the baguettes are free. The plates are small, French style, but between the bread and the soup, if you don't have a big stomach, you should be full.

Your food won't come all at once but will be delivered in a certain order. We ordered the vegetables as second, really yummy but spicy, then the campanelle as third, it was so good we ordered a second one, the duck came as fourth, though it was tender and the sauce was really tasty, it wasn't our favorite. The fries were good, but if you are used to fast food fries, you might not appreciate them.

Our waiter was very nice, polite and attentive at the same time.
Some people are turned off because of the prices or because it is not French enough. As a French person, I say go for the experience; if not for the food, make it about the decor and the service. So get dressed, bring your date, your family or friends, and enjoy!

Absolutely delicious food and fantastic service. République does not disappoint and lives up to its hype. The steak is cooked perfectly and the duck is tender and paired well with sweet caramelized peaches.

Our waitress recommended the bread and butter and I'm so glad we took her up on her suggestion. The butter is flown in from Normandy and adds flavor and creaminess to the rich crispiness of the baguette.

Service is top notch. The only thing that I didn't like was the Japanese highball cocktail. Too much soda water diluted the drink, and the overall flavor profile was a bit bitter.

WOW. Just WOW.

I've heard so much of it already before coming here. It's one of those destination spots one must go when in LA. And it did not disappoint!

My bf and I lined up here before it opened at 8am, and there was already another passionate family ahead of us. We couldn't help but eavesdrop on the dad passionately raving about this spot -- we learned that the building was originally built as Charlie Chaplin's office (I fact-checked this), and that their quiche is a must have! Building up our anticipation even more, at 8am sharp, the exciting dad started to gently pull the unlocked door. It was HILARIOUS, as if he was a kid and the door he's pulling was the entrance to Disney World. My bf and I were joking that we doubt the staff members ever need to set alarms to actually open the door, because someone's probably going to pull on the door at 8am sharp daily.

After a friendly staff unlocked the door, we were greeted with a warm "good morning." Soon after, our eyes were stuck by a gorgeous treasure island of pastries. Absolutely mesmerized like how Little Mermaid feels the first time stepping in a human castle, my bf and I were just in awe and couldn't stop taking pictures.

After we picked our pastries, the host had us order with him before letting us seat ourselves. When walking to our seats, our eyes just couldn't move away from the huge open kitchens lining both sides of the establishment. How wonderful!

We ordered shakshuka, shrimp and grits, a bacon steak, two pastries, coffees, and obviously a quiche. The dishes were so good and every calorie consumed was worth it here.

It's definitely one of the best food and beverage experiences I've had, and I work in food PR in New York City. I'll be thinking about this place.

I was looking for best breakfast and I found it! shakshuka with freshly baked baguette is PERFECT!

There are a lot of different pastries and desserts. Beautiful interior and exterior. Glad they have a valet parking.

They have a line, but it moves pretty fast, so don’t be upset if you will see it.

Love the setup and ambiance. Their bakery menu items were delicious. You need to order to be seated. They only have valet parking. There is always a long wait.
