I met a client here for coffee and it was a first for me. Walking in, I noticed the music 👍🏼 and the unique decor. I especially liked the sayings in the lights.

The line to order was almost out the door and it was 20+ minutes before I placed and got my order.

What can I say? The coffee was great (dark chocolate mocha) as was the sugar scone with cinnamon butter. The only thing keeping me from giving Public Square 5 stars was the wait. I will go back, but only if I have lots of time to wait.

I went to this cafe on a whim with my baby sister as a "cooler older brother" thing. The vibe was just right, and the latte looked and tasted fantastic. I got a black sesame Latte and their coffee rubbed pork sandwich and let me tell you those two are heavenly. The latte was good, but the sandwich was even better. One of the best sandwiches I've had. If I had had more cash in my wallet I would have left a bigger tip. Good cafe all around, highly recommend. Me and my sister had a blast.

Such an amazing experience. The food is so delicious and so are the lattes & tea. Such an amazing staff and vibe. Currently one of my favorite places!!

Really nice vibe at Public Square. First time visit. I was totally impressed with the friendly staff, the decor and the lay out. Just grabbed two lattes and two scones with the 6-butter flight. Everything was excellent. Plan to come back and try more of the menu!

My husband and I were looking for a quick stop for coffee and the Public Square Coffee House offers so much more than that! You first walk up to an inviting patio with beautiful trees and umbrellas to offer shade. The interior of the coffee shop is uniquely decorated and feels modern and vintage at the same time. The employees are friendly and knowledgeable about their offerings. I ordered the breakfast sandwich which was perfectly crunchy and savory with bacon, eggs and vegetables. My husband got the chia bowl with raspberry and granola. We also ordered the scones and butter flight to share. And let me tell you, this is one of the most amazing things we've ever eaten! It is a must have. This scones are light and fluffy with a neutral flavor that is a perfect vehicle for all the different flavored butters in the flight. My husband ordered a plain black Americano which he said was delicious. I had the black sesame iced latte with charcoal. It was fantastic. Overall the experience at this cafe was fantastic! We will be back!

Awesome place for live music. Definitely coming back to check it out for coffee! Will re-do stars for food and service, if I have to, when I come back but feel like that won't be necessary.

Public Square is a really unique and fun coffee spot in downtown La Mesa. I love the aesthetic and vibe of the space, and the outdoor seating is really nice as well.

They do concerts here sometimes too, which are always really fun! They make some mean iced lattes and they have a large selection of specialty concoctions.

Recently visited for my first time and was just impressed in every way of this La Mesa gem. My girlfriend and I were not deterred by the line at 1pm on a Sunday, it went quickly and the register employee was super excited to take our order. All the employees seemed to actually be enjoying themselves, but who can blame them with food, coffee, and the atmosphere provided.

Will definitely be back!!

Delicious scones paired with yummy flavored butter options. Great coffee! My favorite is the avocado toast(not pictured), I usually add an extra egg and bacon. This coffee shop can get pretty packed so keep that in mind when going to do work/study or with large groups.

Great cafe in La Mesa that is in the middle of a cute walkable block.
The staff is super friendly and kind.
You'll find indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a window to pick up your takeaway orders. Mid-day seems to fill up the seats quickly, as I've experienced.

Specialty coffees are so good. The black sesame latte (with Oat milk) is amazing, it really hits the spot, and the pandan latte is a hidden gem (made with the actual leaf). Both are totally worth your visit to this place.

Oatmilk is the only alternative milk option.

Chia parfait is really good. Great little snack with your coffee. They also offer the chia parfait to-go in a fridge just before the cashier.

NOTE that Friday afternoons there is a farmers market in the middle of the town that may impact parking but is an enjoyable add-on if you stay.
