Good food, disappointing experience. I went here looking forward to an relaxing brunch on a early Sunday afternoon. Went to make my order; they were out of Scones (40 minute wait for those), out of the biscuits and gravy (not sure if/when any more would be available later) so I had to make an audible and went with the drench toast along with a green tea and chai latte. No where to sit at first, eventually a table opened up but no one bussed it. (there are containers at one of the back walls stating plates and cups so unclear if they are asking you to bus your own table which I don't mind, but clearly no one was if that was the expectation) So I bussed the table myself and we sat down. Latte and tea (almost $5 for a cup of hot green tea) came about 10 minutes later, I would say almost 20+ minutes after that food finally came out. (My Girlfriend had completely finished her latte by the time food came out) It was good, would have been nice to have a side of syrup to pour on it but that's a personal preference. I should add the people working there seemed very nice and professional, maybe just very overwhelmed.

The best coffee place in La Mesa. We regularly come here and the food + coffee have always been good. The service is great as well.

I’m madly in love with public square. The food is incredible and the staff is always soooo warm and welcoming. One of my favorite cafes I’ve ever been to:)

Hip Coffee House on the Boulevard in the heart of La Mesa Village! All the food here is so yummy and beautifully presented. The craft coffees are freshly roasted, brewed and prepared with skill. The staff are friendly and helpful (especially if you aren't familiar with craft coffees). They really care to make your experience one that will keep you coming back. The place is clean and inviting. I may not be a hipster, but I love coming here to meet up w/ friends or family or business connections. Or I can just come and chill all by myself! Luv the window seating and the open sidewalk tables w/ new bench seating, too. This place has elevated the Village culture and vibe (follow on Instagram or Facebook for regular after hours events, Tuesday Open Mic Nites, live music, readings, comedy, etc.... Wanna treat yourself? Check out Public Square. ☺️

Excellent coffee house with health conscious dish options. If you're looking for guilt-free, light-weight, healthy selections, this pkace will be a great place! I will definitely be back to try other menu items.

Coffee and food are very good.
I love that they have a Chaga (mushroom adaptogen) "coffee" with no sugar 😍
Great place to meet up with friends.
The only thing is make sure to check that they got your order right because they've gotten my orders wrong in the past. One time I ordered a Chaga "coffee" and they gave me some other coffee drink, which I knew like half an hour later because it gave me the jitters and upset stomach (which is why I don't drink regular coffee). Other than that, good experience :)

Don't skip the scones! I love the variety of different lattes. My favorites so far are the pandan and black sesame. Seating can be a challenge.
