A bit confusing walking in without prior knowledge but the staff is excellent and super helpful. Got a Turkish coffee thingy and a Phil's Bagel. Both were delicious and pleasant, the fresh cucumber in the sandwich was refreshing and the mint leaf on the coffee was heavenly.
I can see this place getting busy and it being difficult to order if you dont know what you want walking in the door but everything looks good.

I love their coffee but this is the 4th time I’m disappointed with how they sporadically close for a whole day or early as heck when I want to go to study. I have to call first every time and the other day they were like oh we’re closed, and then today I found out for the next few days they close at 1pm, when it should be like 6 or 7pm like on their website. It’s just frustrating that I have to call ahead every single time, and I’ve never had them close according to what their hours say on Google.

So I was taken aback at what kind of coffee Philz serves. It is very specialized drip coffee with specific names for roast strengths as well as nuanced flavors, sort of like choosing a good wine. The menu goes by light, medium and dark roast. I ordered the Philharmonic and it was a medium bodied drip coffee, though I personally felt it was quite strong. They add cream and sugar before so you need to tell them how much of each you want. It was good coffee no doubt but I'm not sure it was worth the almost $5 for a medium cup of coffee. They are also serve food, like a Starbucks but it had a more of a boutique vibe in menu items, avocado toast anyone? I ordered the Philz bagel , which had cream cheese, sliced tomato and cucumbers, it too was very good. This place definitely appeals to millennials, for atmosphere and menu selection, yet it is pricer than Starbucks. Still good to have tried once but not budget friendly if you are watching your spending.

It took 21 minutes to get a cup a coffee!!? I understand we are still in a pandemic but this was ridiculous! When I told the attendant this is the longest I’ve ever waited for coffee ever, he sarcastically said “that’s great”! I’ll never go to this place again….

Outstanding coffee. Maybe the best I've ever had. Great people that work here as well. Only complaint would be the lack of a condiment station. You take it like they make it and can't adjust to your personal taste. We brought our own sugar the second time.

EDIT: I had my usual silken splendor hot instead of iced since the weather was cold and it tasted so burnt! I've also tried various other roasts from Philz, but it always just tastes terribly burnt somehow, no matter what the preparation. Its so strange that the only drinks I've tried from Philz so far without the burnt flavor are the Mint Mojito (coffee taste was a little bit light for me) and the below mentioned very specific preparation of Silken Splendor.
Coffee with good flavor! A very extensive menu, each based on a bean with distinct tasting notes. I always get mine iced, sweet, and creamy - but even then, the flavor of the beans manages to shine through! My favorite: Silken Splendor with added mint.
The only issue I have with the place is the lack of study spaces. The shop is huge, but has one long table and a handful of smaller ones inside, which makes it a crowded place that's hard to get work done in. It's also closed at 8pm. I would've loved to have a nice coffeeshop near me that I could spend nights studying in! But unfortunately, Philz is not the best place to settle down and get work done.

Our first experience at Philz Coffee was great! The Barista explained the different ways they make their coffees and because of his patience, our order was exactly what we wanted. It was yummy at the first sip. Thanks Philz...we'll be back! Please consider a shop in Las Vegas, Nevada. ;-) We love your coffee. Elko, Nevada
