This place has wonderful coffee, wonderful staff, and a super welcoming ambience/environment. Very nice and easy to do work there as well.

It is conveniently in down town Birmingham at the five points area that is a good area with restraints and other things close to walk to! They have a great variety of food as well!

I gave 4 stars instead of five because the coffee was good but it didn’t wow me. I will probably go back and get one of their more specialty signature drinks and edit the review then.

Top Guide

This is a cute little spot.

The pros:
1. There is outside seating
2. A lot of good menu items including a long list of teas.
3. A lot of seating inside including upstairs seating. Seems to be plenty of outlets if you are hoping to plug your computer in and work.

The cons:
1. There are no outlets outside to plug your computer in and work. The outside area is right downtown and there is a lot of commotion
2. The only parking is really on the street in metered parking. You do have to pay with an app that needs downloaded.
3. I got the season maple latte with oat milk and it was average.

Overall, I would probably rank this place a 3.5. I am looking for a coffee shop that I can work from with easily accessible parking.

This nice little quaint coffee parlor is located in Five Points South! They have a nice variety of items on the menu. I went very plain and had the hot chocolate! The inside is very nicely decorated. There's also an upstairs seating section. Prices are moderately priced.🤑🤑 This is a nice little spot to go to get away, do some work on your computer or just people watch. 😜 If you happened to be on the south side and you want a latte ☕🍵 or cappuccino and doesn't necessarily have to be from Starbucks😒, I do recommend you check them out!👍💯

This place is adorable and they have a lot of lovely options. The quality of the coffee is very good and there are lots of well thought out options. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

That said, the food items look good but lack quality to back up the price. A drip coffee and bagel was $10 before tip. That is wildly overpriced. The to go lids are awful. The coffee spills everywhere and I ended up with hot coffee on my hand and down my leg with the lid still on. It was humbling. I just wanted decent caffeine. I gave it an open minded second chance and still had $2 worth of coffee on me and the sidewalk.

Again, staff is lovely and so is the atmosphere and coffee. It’s a shame about the lids and baked goods

Despite there being a long line, I still got everything I ordered in a timely manner. Nothing was rushed, everything was perfect...especially these blueberry muffins. You KNOW it's a good muffin when you bite into it and you get actual, tart blueberries and not some blueberry flavored jelly. I was blown away.

Had an amazing pour over for a very reasonable price. Both the ladies working were super nice and I had a lovely chat with the barista making my pour over. 10/10 Will be back

I really enjoy Filter. It's a great place to be productive. The food - I loved the Bacon Frittata - and coffee are great. It's a bit on the small side and not the most comfortable in terms of seating, but if you need to get out of your apartment to work for a few hours or catch up with a friend, I recommend it.

this is me and my dog Banjo’s favorite spot. Seriously the most caring and sweet staff who make amazing drinks!! Jess, Mars and AB (I think are their names) are the coolest and always work hard to give me and Banjo the best experience. Love yall!!

There is no one who dropped by this coffee house only once. You will go there again if you taste their coffee once.

My first visit to Filter, and it's great. Clean, cool atmosphere, and a cozy upstairs parlor decorated nicely. The prices are on par with Starbucks, and there are inexpensive (but not free) refills on coffee. The staff is kind and courteous. I had the Noggacino, a blend of Chai, espresso, and sweet egg nog, and it was sharp, warm, and sweet. I don't think any beverage that doesn't contain a narcotic of some kind is worth 6.00, but the atmosphere is nice, and that's included. Check it out. A must-visit when you're in 5 Points.
