The French Goat

We have been going to The French Goat for a couple of years. We take anyone who has visited us and celebrate special occasions there. The food is always delicious and the service friendly and efficient. It’s the best place for a nice meal within 100 miles!

The staff was amazing and very accommodating and understanding to our situation...which can be tough when eating out: 3 kids! Ha! They are awesome and we are repeat customers because of this. The food is phenomenal and the owner, Arthur, is great! We look forward to our next visit!

I'm rating this place with only two stars because even though the service and food were good overall, my friend and I were scolded by the owner or manager (not sure who she was) because part of our group didn't show up. We had made reservations in advance and were told that if we didn't call to cancel within 24 hours, our credit card would be charged. What they didn't tell us was that every single person had to show up or we had to pay for their seat. As I said before, a lady, which may have been the owner, was very rude with us over the whole situation, even though we didn't know that some of our group wouldn't be able to make it until earlier that day. The restaurant doesn't open until the evening, so we couldn't have cancelled their spots in time.
We had no control over it and she chewed us out for it. I can understand their policy but she didn't need to speak so rudely to us when we were there spending money and going to be paying for those who were absent anyway.

The French Goat is amazing. The food was incredible, they have an amazing outdoor seating area, the service was excellent. Our server's name was Michael (atleast that's what was on the check), he had a very good knowledge of the menu& specialty cocktails. The wine selection was very impressive. They had a bottle on their wine list that I had in Paris that I have difficulty finding in the states.

Found a great little restaurant while on our Labor Day getaway in Lewisburg, WV. So glad that friends connected to this area let us in on the secret. Food was exquisite, staff even better!

The excellence of my dining experience at The French Goat cannot be overstated. The staff was professional and the food was exceptional.

Beautiful, intimate restaurant. Michael was an amazing waiter. The filet mignon was very good. Mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts we're served separately. The muscles were very small and escargot served with garlic butter and grilled toast points. The presentation could have been better. The cheesecake was okay. I would have expected a little more for a $200 dinner for two.

Amazing French cuisine and superb service!

World class restaurant in Lewisburg! This revue is long overdue, we've been going there for years and I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. The owners (Arthur and Debbie) are delightful and will greet you and check on you. Incredible food and service from appetizers to desert. The wine offerings are also excellent. The bar is top notch. Definitely worth trying if you're nearby, especially if you're staying at the Greenbrier Hotel. (hotel shuttle or Greenbrier Limo service will take you there) No review would be complete without mentioning their special event wine dinners. They are remarkable experiences. Great menu and wonderful staff! The owners are really nice, too. We went nuts on the apps and weren't disappointed.
