Sclafani's New York Bagels and Bread

One of the better best bread places I have been to a Winchester it will spoil you like bagels I eat a bag and egg and cheese bagel any chance I get there freshly made homemade Cream cheese Hi highly recommend at least coming in one time

Great bagels - awful service. 9 times out of 10, you WILL NOT be able to call-in to place an order as the phone system is always broken. And in these “trying times,” (COVID) how else am I to get some morning grub?

Feedback to the manager on the phone systems was not well-received. Sclafani’s is awfully close to losing a house full of very loyal, and up until now patient, customers.

This place is amazing! Just what Winchester/Frederick County needs! Wonderful bagel sandwiches!

New ownership. Same location. Service /staff seem less engaged/less efficient given high turnover nature of bagel/sandwich shop. Owner very personable and was doing his best to work the room during a slow moving line of waiting customers on a Saturday morning. Chicken salad disappointed, bland. Bagel decent, coffee very disappointing / weakly brewed

Got a Delicious bacon egg and cheese on everything bagel. I was Served with cheer and a smile at the register and a happy “have a nice day” when my order was ready. Very happy. Will be back.

We were in Winchester for one evening and decided to go here the following morning for breakfast and we were not disappointed. I had a bacon, egg and cheese on an everything bagel -- fantastic! And my four year old loved her french toast bagel, especially when one of the staff brought her cinnamon sugar butter to go with it! When we come back to the area, we will be back!

I have been a recurring customer of Sclafani's since it opened. I am the one in our family who stops and picks up a dozen bagels, usually on Saturday mornings. Today, however, my wife was the one who stopped in around 1 PM to get a dozen everything bagels to have on hand when our son comes home for Thanksgiving. He, also, is a fan of the bagels. She was not aware of Sclafani's policy of needing to order ahead for a dozen or more bagels. When this policy was pointed out to her, she offered to amend her order to half dozen bagels. The manager said to her, "no. I will let it go this time...but you'll have to order ahead in the future." Fair enough...however, the tone of this statement caused her to feel scolded, as if she specifically intended to go against policy. I am going to take a break from buying bagels from this establishment. It is my hope that in the meantime that some of the staff will learn the value of having patience with customers as well as the knowledge that a little grace in one's behavior goes a long way.
