These bagels are delicious, and the whole team takes customer service seriously. The prices are competitive with Dunkin' Donuts, but their traditional water bagels vastly surpass the bulk produced experience you get from DD. Go there today and try their lox on rock salt bagel. Out of this world!

Nice staff, good location, good food. Bagels are good, [but not Long Island Bagels). Sorry, but I'm spoiled w the Best Bagels which are NYC & LI. Food is prepared well and promptly. No long waits. Great place to stop & meet for coffee & or breakfast or lunch.

I had initially written a rave review.. I will stand by my original statement that their bagels are extremely fresh and they are very tasty! That is why this new review is a little difficult for me to write.. But the last three times I have been there, this last time in particular, has me wondering if I will ever go back. With one customer in front of me and a pretty much empty restaurant, there is no reason my bagel with butter should have taken 12 minutes...this normally wouldn't bother me,but when i am waiting and watch one employee (little guy with long hair and fuzzy beard) spin a broomstick like a baton for 5 minutes while the other employee sat and talked and another just disappeared..after finally getting my bagel, not only did he forget the crumb cake that i had to remind him of,but when i get on 81 i open my bagel up to find the wrong bagel...please,fix this. The 2 times before this we had to wait a long time for simple orders and they weren't even busy. This place is great and would hate to see something like this keep happening and eventually ruin a good thing. Am not mad as much as i am disappointed. Hopefully they will fix this issue

They have the best bagels in the area! Reminds me of my hometown bagels in Cleveland, Ohio … thank you for bringing us these delicious bagels!

The best bagel place in town! When we have guests stay with us, we always recommend Sclafani's for a quick breakfast that's right off I81. before they hit the road. You can choose from various bagels, cream cheese, and breakfast sandwiches. Delicious!

Everytime I visit this place I leave with a smile on my face. The staff are always friendly. I have a tendency to stutter and thwy never fill in my words. They wait patiently and repeat it just to make sure they heard me correctly without making me feel judged. I always get an everything bagel with lox and cream cheese toasted. I love their bagels. Crunchy on the outside and tender on the inside.

When it comes to reviewing Sclafani's, I'm torn. This place used to be one of the best places to eat around here. Having spent more than my fair share of time in and around NY, I can honestly say these are some of the best and most authentic NY bagels I've had. The owner used to come greet us at the door as we waited in line, which was always long although it always moved quickly. Everything we ever ordered was absolutely delicious. At a certain point, we were stopping into Sclafani's at least a few times per week for their French toast bagels, bagel burgers, the Lox, and their awesome saffron chicken salad.

Unfortunately, our Sclafani's experience has changed dramatically. It's my understanding that the man who opened Sclafani's sold the place to someone else, which is why it's gone downhill.

To be clear, the food is still very, very good, and that makes this even worse because it's the service and new management of Sclafani's that will be its downfall. I can't speak for how Sclafani's is in the early mornings, but every time we've stopped in around 10AM or later, they're basically out of bagels. This NEVER happened with the original owner who would start making fresh bagels hours before the door opened in the morning and continue making them throughout the day. You never had any problem getting the bagel you wanted, and it would always be fresh. But those days are gone.

The other problem I have with the "new" Sclafani's is the service. It seems that no matter what we order, we have to wait and wait and wait for our food to be ready. This would be somewhat understandable if the place was extremely busy, but we've been the only guests before and still waited over a half hour for one bagel with cream cheese and one chicken-salad-on-bagel sandwich. I can be patient and understanding, especially when it comes to working in the unforgiving food service industry, but this is just inexcusable. Other times we've waited 45 minutes for a bagel burger. Unless you're getting a dozen bagels to take home (assuming they even have that many available or they'll let you buy that many) I really don't know what you could order so that you wouldn't be left waiting for an obscene amount of time.

Like I said, I'm really torn when it comes to reviewing Sclafani's. I'd almost prefer for the new ownership to have resulted in a major drop in the quality of the food, but it's still very delicious. However, it becomes problematic when you have very little chance of being able to order what you want or even anything at all. There's also clearly something wrong when a bagel with cream cheese and a bagel sandwich take half an hour. I'm giving Sclafani's two stars to reflect its overall quality as of today. I will probably continue visiting Sclafani's (albeit very infrequently) to check out the management and service situations, but if things don't improve, I'll surely cut my losses and stop going.

What a shame...

A great bagel shop has arrived. $6.00 for lox bagel sandwich nothing cheep about quality only the price. I will only go here for bagels.
Back again, great as always. Smells, music, friendly staff and the best bagels. Keep it up.

Closest thing to Best Bagels in Mid town Manhattan that I have ever had! Bagels are water boiled here to produce a thick and dense bagel. Absolutely delicious. Try the Cheddar bagel. They have Lox and cappers!! and a variety of different spreads. Keep up the good work guys !!

Okay here's the deal. The food is good. The setting is fine. The music is trying to get me to save myself with Jesus. The wall has notes in it like Jerusalem (prayer notes). The staff blesses me. If I wanted to go to church I would. Some people might like that and that's fine. I'm not so much a fan of it. In other words it's over then top. Here is the beauty of America though. I don't have to go there. So I won't because I don't want to give money to a business pushing their personal beliefs, regardless of how stupid it is. Maybe I believe in a different imaginary friend/s. It's a shame because they have a descent lox bagel.
