Sclafani's New York Bagels and Bread

Great customer service! Closest thing I’ve found to a real NY Bagel. My husband is from Long Island, so we drove from Tyson’s all the way to Winchester just to try these bagels, and Sclafani’s did not disappoint! My New Yorker hubby approves! And when the owner found out that we came from Tyson’s just to try their bagels, she came out with a bag of bagels just for us with cream cheese on the house! Thanks again! Highly recommend!

This is a hidden gem!! I stopped into Sclafani's this morning and was excited by their unique menu. They had all the classics I love, but also bagel and cream cheese flavors that I have never seen before. I can't wait to try all the combinations. Today I got my classic sesame bagel with veggie cream cheese. It was the best bagel that I have ever had! I am from Connecticut and I have really missed the NY style bagels. This feels like a little bit of home. As I sat at the table, I noticed the staff going around to the tables, talking to the customers. Genuine conversations, showing them trays of different treats, shaking their hand, etc. You can tell that the staff connects with each of them. This will now be my go-to bagel shop!

Love the bagels but the customer service has plummeted. I have to agree that I am not sure what has happened since a change in management. I used to love waiting in line because everyone was so friendly. Now, long waits, no smiles and a sign in the window that says restrooms for customers only (you are not in a high traffic area, be kind). I miss being greeted and the smiles. Also, why are the bagels different prices? That is ridiculous. For a specialty bagels such as cinnamon, cheddar, cranberry or French Toast is .25 more than the regular bagels... Not kosher. Then, I am watching someone placing bagels in bins with out gloves and was told it is the baker and they are allowed to.

Whenever we drive from FL to NY on 81 we always stay overnight in Winchester and always have breakfast at Sclafanis! Great bagels.

Seriously the best bagel I've ever had. Went in on a whim and left with an everything bagel and strawberry cream cheese. It was absolutely delicious. I will be back for the lox.

Before it was sold last year, I would have given this a five star review without blinking. In fact, I went multiple times a week. Something is missing under the new ownership, however. The food is still pretty good and comes at a reasonable price, but there does not seem to be the same pride in the business that there used to be.

On my last trip, a Sunday afternoon that wasn't busy, I noticed that two simple bagel orders were incorrect and had to be redone. Although I am not sure what the problem was with one of the orders, the other order was supposed to be a toasted bagel with cream cheese. The bagel wasn't toasted. Sunday afternoons used to always have an after church line, but service problems like this and the missing passion for the business make that no longer the case.

I'll still return from time to time hoping that the good old days have returned. I hope they come back soon.

I'm from Pittsburgh & I found this place while visiting in July 2020. Will be back in 2021. Simply the best bagels I've ever had, and you feel right at home and peaceful from the moment you step into the restaurant. You have to try it!

Hands-down best bagels in the area. They're so fresh, and they're huge! I don't know how it took me so long to finally give them a try, but this for sure my new favorite spot. I've had the lox on salt bagel and the breakfast with sausage on everything (pictured).

Very fast service. Friendly staff. They have the best sweet tea in town! You can get refills on tea and coffee. Great prices. Indoor and outdoor seating with restroom. Can order for carry out as well. Large menu. Great portions! Their Philly Cheese steak is HUGE! Amazing chicken salad. Everything Bagels are my favorite. Awesome french fries! Their cannoli's are very good quality!! Clean, sharp, upbeat, and modern atmosphere. So glad that I finally got to try this place out...definitely recommend!! :)
