Java Jacks Cafe

I just loved this restaurant!! They have an extensive coffee menu and a wonderful food menu that included various egg benedict dishes and Zeppoli's! The breakfast, which was obviously fresh made, was delicious (eggs, bacon, hasbrown and toast) as was the Chicken biscuit. The atmosphere was genuinely friendly and it was tucked into a little cottage house with an eclectic feel!! They even had real, cloth tablecloths that reminded me of Grandma's house!!

The food is always good and comes out hot. Nice local place in Tappahannock with generous owners.

Have enjoyed Java Jacks Cafe. Today was an especially exceptional brunch with my mother. The waitress was so kind and thought of everything. She asked if the sun was in our eyes and that she would close the blinds. She was so attentive and even brought us large to-go coffee cups without asking. I told her that the world needed more of her everywhere !! Thank you !!

The croissant sandwich tasted like it was jimmy deans and the hash browns weren't cooked all the way through.

If I could give 10 stars I would! My mom and I stopped in on a whim after a “tricky” trip to VA and let me tell you how much this place turned it around!

The staff is so sweet and attentive. Jean, the owner was there and happy to chat. The food was phenomenal and you can tell absolutely homemade and fresh right down to the fruit and orange juice.

We even noticed them change the table cloth and wipe the table underneath which is always a sign of an eatery that takes cleanliness seriously.

We will absolutely make this stop a MUST even if just passing through VA.

When we arrived, the owner told us to wait outside, but she said it in such a rude manner. A simple “please wait outside” would do. When we came in we mentioned we were here for three coffee flights, she told us that was fine. Waited forever to be served. Finally we were able to order 3 coffee flights, waitress came back and said they could only make one because they were almost out, so we were like alright we’ll take the one. Surely the owner would’ve been able to tell us that before we were seated and waited. Unfortunately we couldn’t drink any of the coffee because it tasted like just straight water. We waited to pay and mention this to the owner, who clearly knew we had the watered down coffee as we walked in with our waitress. The owner completely skipped over us and started letting other customers pay after they came to the register after us. When we finally got to talk to the owner we had to remind her about the watered down coffee, to which she said that no one else complained that day and she would do us a favor by cutting the $12 flight bill in half. What an hour drive wasted.

Just had breakfast this morning. Food was warm, well seasoned. I tried the strawberry refresher and it was definitely refreshing. They're taking the appropriate precautions in regard to the COVID situation. You may remove your mask inside to eat.
Clean and organized. You will like the art and photos depicting how far this place has come.
Service is excellent. A great place to go for a meal.

Had a very good lunch here with family. A lot of options for everyone. Very good food and great atmosphere. Coffee is worth the stop alone.

Ordered take out. Was told 35 mins. It took over an hour before our lunch was ready. I ordered “the bird” wrap. I asked for No BACON. There was bacon. So I was unable to eat my wrap. And since waiting the extra time for my food to be ready took up my whole lunch break, I was unable to go out and get anything else. Highly disappointed.

Always a pleasant dining experience. Delicious food. Tasty coffee beverages. Wonderful people running it & working there. I've dined in & done take out. It would be great if they would extend the afternoon closing time.
