Unfortunately, not at all good. We came in not realizing they were about to close (30 min) so I asked if we were too late and they assured us we weren't. I asked again as we entered the dining area and they assured us it was fine. So we seated ourselves and ordered. We enjoyed our last visit, but this was not good. I didn't have the heart to say anything at the time, but it was just not good. The Crab quiche was tiny, half the size of what I've had anywhere else. My sons burrito was extremely watery for some reason. He only took a couple of bites, I had a few bites. His potatoes were hard and definitely reheated, unfortunately they were barely lukewarm and not good at all (I'd say likely microwaved ). They were out of Jack's (we love those!) but, since they were closing soon that was understandable. Wish they had just said the quality of food would be better if we returned at another time. We wasted our money sadly 😔 On a positive note, there was a very sweet young man who came to visit with us whom I assume is an employee or family member. Great fella! Ladies at the front were also very sweet.

Affordable, delicious, and quick service to boot. This place is adorable, everyone was friendly, and my entire meal only cost $15 plus tip. Highly recommend this place.

We have been in Java Jacks a few times for breakfast and we really like it. The food comes out hot and is very tasty. They are busy on the weekends so service might be a little slow, but it's worth the wait. The restaurant is an old 1910 house that is very charming. I would recommend.

Our first time here. Had the biscuits and gravy. My wife had blueberry French toast! Great selection of coffee beverages. Great service and meals! Definitely will be back.

We drive through Tappahannock anytime we head to Norfolk. I had been wanting to stop, but weekends are usually super busy. Stopped today, a Wednesday and enjoyed a delicious brunch and tasty caramel Tappacinno. Quaint little house, turned bistro. Friendly staff. Will definitely be back.

We ate here for the first time yesterday. My first time. It was busy and our waitress had lots of hungries to take care of but she was very pleasant, helpful, and a sweetheart. I had the create your omelette which was very good. The diced onion and potatoes hit the spot. The jacks were delicious. My better half had the Chesapeake which was very good. They also come with fresh diced fruit. The bottomless coffee was excellent. They have a good variety of things on the menu to explore and the food is made with love.
It was a very cute little place and we will certainly return here.
UPDATE:
I have now eaten here five times. I still love this place. The food is fantastic. The vibe is great in this quaint little place. The coffee is bottomless and good when you can get it. I’ve deducted one star from the original review and would consider another one. Don’t come here in a hurry if you’re eating there. I don’t mind this though. What I found that bothers me is how slow and forgetful two of the waitresses are. You can ask for more coffee or something but don’t hold your breath. This has happened every time. I just thought they were just busy the first time. I’m a very patient individual but don’t offer bottomless coffee if you won’t provide it. Seems like 2 small cups is the best they can do.

First-time customer. The location is good due to being by a main road. Love the concept of the coziness of it being in a "home" type setting. These two things could make this a jem in the northern neck, but the food....
I really wanted a good gormet coffee and asked the waitress what a popular coffee or specialty was that she would recommend. She looked like a deer in headlights, so I ordered a mocha cappuccino, bacon, and blueberry pancakes.
The bacon was so overcooked and hard it was (no kidding), bacon jerky. The pancakes were extremely dry, and apparently, they just threw blueberries into normal batter right in the center. It was a chunck of what I believe was frozen blueberries. They were also barely warm. The coffee was the biggest disappointment. First, it took over 20 minutes. My husband drank his entire regular coffee before mine arrived. There wasn't even a hint of mocha. It tasted like maxwell house with ALOT OF MILK topped with froth and lukewarm.
I truly hope this review reaches them and they fire the current ook who is doing them no favors judging by the reviews. If they get an experienced cook, revamp the menu, and train the wait staff on the menu, I believe they have potential.

We stop here every time we're in Rappahannock. A one of a kind gem. I appreciate that they have healthy alternatives to waffle fries. If you want waffle fries that's available too.

We always enjoy breakfast at Java Jack's and today was no exception! Good food, good service and a fun vibe. Try the biscuits and sausage gravy - it does not disappoint!

I've driven past this place numerous times. Today, with my fiancee I finally stopped and glad we did! Quick, friendly service with a smile. The food cooked just as we ordered and was delicious! Will definitely be back again!
