Cute walk up counter service with friendly staff. Bit of a line but it moved quickly. Not crazy about the bagels, but everything else was great.

My wife and I went here for a quiet afternoon cup. It was perfect. Felt like it was a part of the neighborhood with people slipping in and out for a coffee. Not many tables, but we felt like we could hold a private conversation. We loved it and will be back.

My favorite coffee spot in Richmond

Solid coffee and sandwiches but nothing to write home about. Great if you're nearby but there are better coffee spots in Richmond.

The place is pretty small, and the staff is friendlyish (if somewhat laconic). I've only had the sausage bagel sandwich which is pretty good.

However, the coffee is the absolute bomb. Best java in RVA.

The coffee is "OK," but I just watched management destroy a new employee for a totally human mistake. I assume this mentality extends all the way up to the owner. I won't be back.

Great local establishment. Amazing service and coffee. The owners are super friendly. Bagels are super delicious. Whether it’s a quick pit stop or a day of leisure Black Hand Coffee is a must.

Black Hand is my favorite coffee shop in Richmond, and that says a lot. Competition is stiff here. Their cold brew is my second favorite (Wandering Bear is first, sorry guys) anywhere.

It's so smooth, I don't add a thing to it. It doesn't need it.

They also make a mean bacon egg & cheese bagel.

I really love this location of this coffee shop! I love the hip vibe when I 1st walked in. Only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because the person serving the coffee the other day was just not friendly at alll... he seemed very Board and the coffee was cold ... ugh... and he said he had no way to heat it up more... what?? BUT we will be back because we usually enjoy the coffee, the space and the service... Plus, everybody is entitled to at least a couple bad days, right? I can't imagine this guy is always in a bad mood. Hmmm... maybe he needs more coffee?

first time visiting blackhand coffee today! Both the service and coffee was above and beyond. I would definitely recommend this coffee shop. Claire walked me thru the menu and let me know abt the specials. Excited to make this my new staple coffee shop!
