I got the 16oz Flavor Latte (with Gingerbread) and soy milk. My drink was made super fast! The place is small, seating is a bit limited for groups larger than two people. Just about everyone in here is doing work on laptops so it’s fairly quiet. The barista was a little straight forward and didn’t care much to sprinkle in some extra friendliness but it didn’t ruin my experience at all.
I wish they used in-house mugs or “for here” mugs. It would reduce some waste!
EDIT: they do have in house mugs, but they are only for smaller lattes and drinks :). 👍🏼
Overall the coffee was very good and I am very happy! I would recommend this place for people looking to study or wind down and relax with a coffee.
Off topic: lots of windows for natural light, yet the room was still very dark for whatever reason. Some people might want a brighter atmosphere to work in so I thought I might mention the setting.

Very cute little place with quality coffee. Got a cookie butter iced latte that was delicious and a tasty everything bagel sandwich. Very happy to have this place in the neighborhood!

(review from a month ago) an impromptu trip to richmond led me to this coffee shop i had been dying to go to! i wish we could've been able to go in and check out the place, but due to covid restrictions, we couldn't. thankfully it was a really nice day, and we sat outside in this cute little nook next to the shop.
i had a dirty chai with oat milk, and my boyfriend had a vanilla iced latte. a 10/10, and the girl who worked there was lovely as well! i will be definitely be coming back!

We absolutely love Black Hand! Definitely appreciate that they are one of the few truly dog-friendly coffee shops in RVA. We go every Sunday now for the delicious bagel sandwiches and lattes. Great espresso, friendly staff, and even though it’s usually busy- service is quick.

Support this local small business!!! A shop that has stayed true to their roots to serve the people of Richmond. They sell high quality single-origin beans for the best price in town, full pound bags and not $20 for 3/4 pound bag *ahem*unlike all the other local roasters i.e. lamplighter, blanchard’s, recluse, and the rest. Not only a better price point on coffee beans, but they have done great in their selecting and roasting, tastes better than the beans I bought from Blanchards and is up there with my favorite beans where I currently live. I won’t go anywhere else for a hot cup or a bag of whole bean coffee in Richmond. Thank you Black Hand!!!!

Bustling spot with great coffee! We hung out for a few cups shortly after opening on a Friday morning and enjoyed the busy atmosphere. Seems very in touch with the neighborhood with lots of flyers/posters for local events. Could definitely be a regular here!

A fun little corner coffee shop with a simple menu, friendly staff, and busy on a Saturday morning (a good sign). Decaf and milk alternatives available. Their Costa Rica roast is tasty. Plus, you've gotta love the Skyrim reference.

Top notch small coffee shop. Good music that is not too loud, good outdoor space, decent wireless.
