I've gotten a coffee at this place ALMOST everyday for the past ..3 years? I've lost count. Very friendly and funny employees, excellent, consistent coffee. Anyone' who's hatin' doesn't know the difference between a cup of good coffee from Folger's.

Best coffee in Richmond, hands down. Super chill staff and unbeatable prices. You can tell they really care about their coffee and their customers. It's the only place I go when I want coffee.

When looking for a place to drink iced coffee, I want a place trendy enough to feel out of place, but not so trendy that I feel unwelcome. I want the barista to wear a t-shirt with a word like "Pitchfork", or something so ambiguous it leaves me confused as to if it is a book, movie, or band all of which I am unaware. I want to walk in and see several different styles and textures of reclaimed wood.

I consistently and regularly shop at Black Hand. I go there to pick up coffee beans, and it's always on their recommendation. I just show up and say 'Gimme what's good, and grind it fine.' Exemplary coffee every single time.

Every. Single. Time.

Underwhelming coffee is the nicest way to put it. I'm not a connoisseur by any means, but I have trouble believing this is considered good coffee to so many. I actually thought for a moment they had accidentally confused gravel and dirt for coffee beans. I'm not a fan of starbucks or lamplighter either, and I'm sure people are diehards for their particular cup of coffee- so take that into account. I say give this place a shot, but don't let hype cloud your judgment, there are plenty who would rather have coffee at a funeral home over this.

Good coffee, terrible service. Asked if they had expresso beans for sale and was told to look over on the shelf and they would be there if there were any. Which I had already done. Then she proceeded to school me on beans to use other then expresso beans in a Home grade expresso machine. After I told her I had the same brand expresso machine she did - Nuovo Siminolli and commercial grinder - she had nothing more to say. Then there was a F bomb expressed with the next patron, while we waited on our coffee. Couldn’t wait to get out of there.

One of my favorite coffee shops in Richmond! Super nice and friendly baristas and their outside garden is so great and hipster! People love their Chai and their bagels!

THIS PLACE IS A GEM. BlackHand Cofffe Co is what coffee is supposed to taste like, and the caffeine content is on point! I only got 12oz and I felt ready for my day! It's way better than that bitter trash Starbucks is peddling so support a small business y'all!

Cold brew was good, but atmosphere and service were uninviting. Surprisingly snarky for a laid-back joint. We asked where the creamer was, and the response was a nod and a point to the beverage fridge in the back of the shop. We won’t be back.
