Upon arriving to pick up my online order, the blonde child working the register told me that they hadn't seen the order. I told her I didnt have time to wait for them to make it, as doing so would make me late for work, so she gave a $5 bill back to compensate me for my missing food. So, my $11.54 order was reduced to 6.54.... for a drip coffee, without so much as an apology. Poor training and poor hospitality.

Figured I'd give my neighborhood spot another shot - sadly they still haven't figured out the online order process, 7 months later. Coffees were iced instead of hot, bagel instead of English muffin on the sandwich, and an overhelmed staff without any answers or grip on the process. To their credit, they got me the right coffees pretty quickly. Good products - but if you're in a rush and need to order ahead of time, go somewhere else. Maybe I've had bad luck but they botch my order almost every time :-(

Really close to my house and well worth the walk! The coffee is very reasonably priced and the sandwich is super filling for $5.

Great coffee- fresh and robust- bitter in the best way. Friendly service. Buy local- RVA thrives!

Love this place! Try and go every day, their cold brew is the best in town - strong, punchy, flavorful, rich, bright, and easy to drink. Not to mention best caffeine bang for your buck I've ever had. Their hot coffee ranges from beans all over the world and always satisfies. Staff is kind and fun, and FAST! Terrific place :)

There are about a thousand great coffee shops in Richmond, and I think Black Hand is the best. The coffee is always fantastic (the dirty chai is the star of the show), the breakfast sandwiches are delicious, the staff is friendly and attentive, and the outdoor seating is adorable. I love it at Black Hand!

They need to train their baristas in how to make espresso drinks. I go there semi frequently and never have had a drink made correctly. More care needs to be taken.
The owner clearly doesn't think I can have a valid criticism here. It goes without saying that he hasn't made the drinks I've ordered. I'll provide careful documentation next time.

Self-roasted coffee beans transformed into a strong and bold latte. 20oz only casts 4.5 is a good price!

Coffee is great and service and staff are friendly. I'm glad to see this place is still open after the year we have all had. If you live locally please pop by and support this unique little coffee shop.

Black hand coffee company is a traditional city coffee company located on the corner street with limited parking but regardless of that the entire experience is parking a good distance and enjoying the walk with overhanging trees and saying hello to your neighbor. The sun comes up over the homes right as you approach the shop. You get a blast of sun and soon delicious coffee. Once inside you will be welcomed by warm atmosphere and smiling faces. If you’re lucky enough to own a dog you can walk him straight in and wait for your coffee. They will not protest. The coffee is the entire reason for going. It’s delicious. I used to go to Starbucks and other coffee shops around but I make sure I make the trip here when I need reliability and speed. They are very professional. Don’t even ask how they are feeling - the staff have no time for emotions. Their days will be pack with orders and maintaining the coffee wells. Don’t take offense, for you too would be unwelcoming to personal questions with that level of responsibility. Please go

AWESOME PEOPLE AND LOCAL. The Owner refunded my order immediately when he saw they were out of what I ordered. Upon picking it up (didn’t see he had tried to contact me), he tried to give me free pastries and coffee, and expressed his compassion and sympathy towards the misunderstanding. I paid a 3$ tip because it’s the right thing to do. It was no ones fault! and he went out of his way to take care of the customer. That’s who we want serving our community.
