Roasters typically produce better quality coffee, and this establishment is no exception. We thoroughly enjoyed our house drip and americano, piping hot and served in lovely ceramic cups and saucers.
The decor is eclectic but charming, with its antique wood floors, original light fixtures and delicate porcelain pots with flowers. The vast seating is varied, perfect for a study session or date.
The somewhat grungy service culture stands in contrast to the refined space, but certainly makes The White Hart one of a kind.

Will absolutly be back.
I wish they had table service. This place is easily one of the best spots in Downtown for breakfast.
The guys in the back are crushing food orders. I love that its a coffee shop, they seem short staffed, but having table and walk up service would be ideal.
Either way, I loved it.

My other half and I checked this place out while trying to get to know the area. I am a big coffee drinker so I do have to say the drinks are great! The food was sub-par. For the price spent on it it really wasn't that great. I don't think we'll be coming back for food but definitely will for coffee

It was very nice and portions on the food was generous. I just wish it had been obvious where the menu was and descriptions on the boards. But it was lovely and a nice quiet place for lunch on a hot day.

My dad wanted me to leave this review but little did he know there was really no need since I was gonna write one either way hahaha. What we appreciated the most was the utmost honesty from the staff about how long it was gonna take to get the food, you don't get that too often. Not to mention the food was AMAZING! *chefs kiss* We aren't from the area but will definitely be back whenever we come and visit!!

Advice: order the shrimp and grits and get your coffee in a mug.
For years, this place has been a consistently good coffeeshop, as their espresso beans are not over-roasted. Today, I dropped in for some afternoon coffee (get yours in a mug so you can appreciate the foam more). I'd typically order the chicken sandwich, but this time I noticed the menu had changed and they now offer shrimp and grits! Of course I order it and it is hands down my favorite shrimp and grits in Lynchburg, even compared to more expensive places like Greys!!! The dish had a touch of spice so be forewarned if you can't stomach a tiny smidge of heat.
Also the Cafe itself appeared to have been reorganized recently and the layout now makes more sense. The staff was friendly, as always.

Vintage, semi-rustic, semi-contemporary. Friendly atmosphere. Great place to grab good coffee, good food (light fare) , work from your laptop, or chat with friends. Great good old fashioned meeting place. The kind you visit again and again.

Me and my fiancée went to White Hart for breakfast and we both ordered omelettes. Her omlette was extremely overdone and the bacon looked like shavings of charcoal. Mine was better but still overdone. We spent $45.47 for two coffees and a couple omlettes. It was overall a disappointment. The drinks were delicious and the fries were surprisingly good.

Great lattes and unique breakfast options!!
