This is an example of exactly the kind of business I love to support. The owner clearly is in this for his own enjoyment and passion and we get to reap the rewards! You will be very hard pressed to find better fresh beans in Virginia. My weekend trips to the farmers market wouldn't be complete with out a stop at the roaster.

To me one of the simple pleasures in life is a great cup of coffee to start the morning. So to sit here with an Italian Roast Sumatra Gayo Mandiri from Grains of Sense takes me back to Italy where I so remember the best coffee. I like the fact the owner Tom roasts all the coffee and they are free trade certified and responsibly grown. Very important to me. I highly recommend and at this point I would say support local, small businesses, but I would also recommend those perusing the website from near and far to not hesitate ordering!

By far this is the best selected, blended, and roasted coffee I have found. If you're looking for a friendly artisan roaster whose craft is his passion, look no further! Tom's great service and quality coffee raise the (coffee) bar! He ships too, so don't be afraid to try his coffee even if you don't live near the 'Burg.

I truly believe that this is the best coffee in Lynchburg! Tom is so knowledgeable and personable every time I go into the shop to visit. Because of Grains of Sense, I honestly stopped buying store bought coffee because it wasn't the same. Highly recommend checking out this little shop any time you're downtown!

This is the coffee you've been looking for! Tom is very good at what he does. He'll guide you to exactly what fits your preferences and you will not be disappointed. Uber fresh, top quality beans, expertly roasted by a man that takes his craft seriously and with passion.

The owner is almost always there and is always willing to talk about what you might like. One of their best blends is their Thomas blend. Their small shop smells fantastic and the prices are very good for a local coffee roaster. They also sell tea!

This place is awesome. I got a bag of the Italian Roast because the cup I bought was so good. Tom's very friendly and knowledgable about his trade. My wife was able to try some tea and she said she enjoyed it aswell. Will be back again!
