Fantastic place to go and hangout with friends on a rainy afternoon. Reservations are important, but not necessary! Great British atmosphere and wonderful food. Despite the prices being somewhat high, the food and tea is fantastic. I would recommend for anyone to try.

A close friend of mine, Erica, works here and I can see why. It's very homey and a great place to have private parties or go to read a book. They have specialty teas, some that I had never tried before, that are absolutely delicious. The decor takes you somewhere else. A great place to get away.

An absolute MUST if you're visiting Lynchburg. I stopped in here while stopping to rest and get lunch while traveling and was treated like ROYALTY! The owner is lovely, really makes you feel at home. The decor is incredible. The tea was good and the food even better. I hope to stop here again some day!

My favorite little tea room! I have been coming here for years and I even came for my bachelorette party! The chicken and mushroom pie is my favorite lunch item and the Eaton mess is such a good little dessert! I can't recommend this tea room enough if you are looking for a good afternoon treat.

Lovely atmosphere with amazing lunch options. We've eaten here several times and each time we love our choices. Highly recommend the chicken and mushroom pie. Dessert cherry crumble with custard.

Love everything about it! The tea & food was delicious. Our waitress/hostest was adorable & sweet, perfect for the position. The whole place is adorable. Maybe everything wasn't exactly what you'd expect by name, like scones or clotted cream, but we had the most amazing time.

After all the 5 star reviews we were sorely disappointed. I wanted to love it and I’m sure it was probably just an off day. When we first arrived the hostess couldn’t find our reservation, even though we had email confirmation. Then it took a while before anyone waited on our table. When she finally arrived, she was very unfamiliar with the menu questions we had and we could tell she was new. That’s no problem, but these were very simple questions that if someone was trained properly should know on a day to day basis. We were also distracted by an older woman who was playing, what sounded like, Americas funniest videos sitting on the couch behind us which didn’t help the already unpleasant experience we were having. Later we found out it was the owner who was sitting on the couch playing the videos. Not a good look. 😞 Then to top it off, my chicken pie was refrigerator cold in the middle which let us know it was not baked fresh. So, all in all we did not have a good experience, not saying we wouldn’t try it again, but it did put a bad taste in our mouth being our first time there.

Very friendly staff tea is amazing, and the food I ordered was amazing! Now I did have a desert and that was not great, I mean it was not bad but after the food my expectations were high. Overall I am totally going again it was a great experience.

I have gone here twice now and enjoyed both trips. The aesthetics of the restaurant are pretty alone, but combined with the teacups and window light make it even more attractive. I love the bottomless teapots and the food is delicious. My favourite dessert so far has been the sticky toffee pudding! It was warm and sweet. On the savory side, the curry chicken and cottage pie were also phenomenal.

Not impressed. We arrived early for our reservation and ended up being seated about 25 minutes later. We then waited another 30 minutes at the table before we had tea.
A few words come to mind when sitting and eating here, overpriced, pretentious, judgmental, inattentive, understaffed. The tea was mediocre at best… once it arrived. The food was ridiculously priced for doll-sized sandwiches and dry crumbly desserts. The biscuits tasted over a week old and fell apart in your hand when trying to take a bite.
Left feeling robbed, hungry, and disappointed. Would not return again, and would not recommend unless you have hours and hundreds of dollars to throw away on a sad tea party.
The pictures depict the food given plus tea which cost $55 without tip for 3 people.
