Gathering Grounds Patisserie & Cafe

We had a delicious lunch today at Gathering Grounds. Our waiter Ryan did an excellent job, very attentive, professional, and friendly regardless that the restaurant was very busy. Our food came out in about 15 minutes despite how busy it was. Delicious croissant chicken salad sandwich served with a huge side salad. Great prices and generous portions. Also loved their large coffee selection. We got oatmilk iced lattes with flavor shots. We have bought multiple pies from them in the past like peanut butter, chocolate bourbon pecan and key lime. Our guests raved about those pies! We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great experience!

Delicious food, lots of options for sandwiches, pastries and breakfast. I had a really nice pistachio chai latte, and they even gave my dog a puppucino! Staff was lovely. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Pet friendly. This place is perfect for a quick bite in Luray before carrying on your Shenandoah adventures.

Delicious food and kind service from Karen. There was a very minor swap of ingredients in our orders, but she quickly apologized and gave us additional sandwiches for free. We appreciate the gesture! We definitely recommend the food and drinks. We had breakfast sandwiches with cappuccino and chai latte.

We had one of the best servers we’ve met. The food was very good. The pretzel was a real treat, wish I’d ordered one to go. Did get lattes to go and they were excellent. Will definitely visit again when we have the chance!

Awesome lunch visit during our first trip to Luray. We arrived shortly before noon, received pleasant greeting and were promptly seated at the front window table. Our sandwiches were delivered in very reasonable time fresh and delicious.

Dani was an absolutely amazing server! Not only did she provide prompt and pleasant service to us, but we watched her rolling silverware, bussing tables, taking phone calls, and running food. She was definitely the hardest worker in the place by a lot. Absolutely amazing food, but again, Dani was just awesome! If we come back, I hope to have her as our server again.

My mum and I go to Gathering Grounds often and never have a bad experience. The food is fresh, the servers are lovely, and the atmosphere is calm, safe, and inviting. Vegetarian and gluten free option! My go-to is one of the two veggie burgers on gluten free bread with a side of fries. Today I tried their new coffee flights! Another pleasant experience. They change the coffee flights every week (which include your choice of (4) out of (6) drinks)! I'm excited to try next weeks.

Easy 5 stars for food quality, service, experience. House coffee was wholesome. The experience of sitting by the window looking out at the suns rays shining on luray and the mountains was an inspiring start to the day. I had a sausage egg cheese bagel and potato soup. I savored each spoonful of the rich but delicate home made soup. The sausage had a distinct aromatic taste, clearly locally sourced. My wife had a beef au jus sandwich and each piece tasted like it was individually cooked. With a home made pastry, to go specialty coffee, the breakfast/brunch was a grand total of $35 before tip for the excellent service. The biggest disappointment was that we did not stay long enough to return, but we will be back.
