Mr. J's Bagels & Deli

We were on a road trip, and were headed to Panera when we noted Mr.J's deli place. It was shortly before noon and it was everything a deli should be- breakfast all day, great club sandwiches, home made cookiess, a variety of chips and drinks. Local folks consistently showed up over the next half hour while we ate in their outside eating area. COVID compliant, friendly, and excellent food.

So today I went around 645 and they close at 7. The cashier was super rude and acted as if my sister and myself we a bother to her. We ordered 2 Texan sandwiches and went on our way to only find out we got 2 of the most saltiest and horribly made sandwiches. Ive been in Retail for 24 years and never in my life have I ever written a bad remark of a service provided. Those sandwiches were uneatable and we were very disappointed with our experience. I love Mr. J’s just sad people gave us a bad experience today.

What happened to this place? it used to be good and run properly. It even looks dirty now like they haven’t mopped or did any real maintenance in years. Horrible service the last three times I’ve been there they confused the order twice rang me up wrong on two visits and there was eggshells in my food much more than a reasonable amount. And after all of that I still did not want to write this review but I just walked out of there because they been trying to figure The Proper amountto refund somebody because they did the same thing again over charging someone.In my opinion Mr. Jay’s market Street location should bring some of the management from the 42 locations because they don’t know what they’re doing in this place anymore 👎🏾

I always say that bagels aren't my favourite, but I'll happily make an exception for Mr. J's. They are also very involved in the community and are a true asset to Harrisonburg

Staff is a little abrupt. Make sure you know your order when you get to the counter. Excellent bagels! Had the big breakfast, so much good food but couldn't finish it. Have great breakfast options. Crowded on the weekends.

Mr. J's is a place you must eat at in Harrisonburg. Bagels are AMAZING. I highly recommend sausage, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. This location is always popular and there is typically a wait. But they have a pretty quick service.

Great tasting food. Friendly service. Not much of a wait. Mask is required when entering or in line. Dining area is open. If you like bagels this is the place to go

While service remains fast and friendly, selection and cleanliness are nothing like they were when the restaurant first opened. How do you make a Reuben sandwich without rye or even marble rye bagels or bread? This 12 yr veteran of six kitchens sez: you can't!

The home fries and our breakfast sandwichs were really salty. Like whoever made this had no regard for how much seasoning they put on it. I threw away the 2 orders of home fries.
