Donnie D’s Bagels and Deli

Oh my golly! I am from Long Island, this is a taste of home! I had a Rueban on a pumpernickel bagel which was out of this world!!!

Donnie D’s is my favorite lunch spot. Their bagels are my favorite in the Roanoke area and according to my husband they have the best chicken salad he’s ever tasted. It takes us about 20+ minutes to get here from our house, so at first we made it a special weekend stop, but the food is so good we find ourselves stopping by 2+ times a week! The staff is also very friendly and will give recommendations if you aren’t sure what to get. Also, the bagel chips are to die for. Definitely recommend!

This is a great place to go! Im looking forward to going back!! I had a bagel with cream cheese and I'll have to say it was the best one I ever put in my mouth. I want to go back and try something else, maybe for lunch.

This is a great bakery, deli and sandwich shop. They have a wide variety of bagels and put them to good use with their sandwich menu that is full of tasty sandwiches. You don't have to have your sandwich on a bagel but the bagels are so good I don't know that I'll ever go with regular sandwich bread here. I had the Italian and it was delicious. The oil and vinegar on it added a wonderful zing. I'm looking forward to having another or trying something else from the menu.

Really good bagels and deli options! They almost never get my order right though, but the owner does replace the mistake if you contact them. Mask usage I've seen by staff is ok. The staff can be a bit short in attitude though - busy chatting amongst themselves which is why I think they get the details wrong and put your onion bagels on top of your french toast bagels. Tend to rush around. I'd rather wait an extra minute and get my order right.
Lots of menu options. Good to have them in Botetourt, not just pizza or Mexican food.
Wait can be long, order ahead on line option is helpful; pay ahead to skip the line.

GET A LARGE COFFEE SLUSHY!!! You won't regret it. Worth every penny. Also best bagels I've ever had... Better than my friend's bagels from new York... Better than Panera bread, but in my opinion Panera isn't even in the same league. Panera bagels are like jail food compared to Donnie D's bagels. Get the French toast bagel toasted with butter. Get the cheddar jalapeno bagel toasted and top with the bacon cheddar ranch cream cheese. Amazing. I don't brag on many restaurants because I don't think they're worth it. This one: I would have to take a bereavement day if they left town. 🤣

Very frustrating wait times. Ordered two bagels with cream cheese and hash browns and were told it would be a 25-30 minute wait which even that seemed lengthy so we went out to the car and my partner kept going in to check to see if they were ready. It wasn’t until 45 minutes later that they were ready. When we received our bag two mini muffins were thrown in with no packaging which we did not order and were frozen cold. Flavor of the bagels was not worth the drive, wait time or quality of service.

Bagels are great but service is consistently deplorable. Waited almost 20 minutes for a breakfast bagel sandwich to go only to get home to find that I'd been given the completely wrong order!
