Lived locally for years and have been dozens of times. Always superb coffee, pastries, bread and sandwiches. One of my most adored places to eat in Vermont, you guys rock!

Not a ton of options for folks with gluten sensitivity (which I get, their a bakery) but I felt they weren't interested in even answering questions about the salad or soups (it wasn't like I wanted a sandwich or loaf of bread).

Amazing bread. I got the whole grain and potato loafs. They even gave it to me freshly sliced with their machine! You can also see through windows into their factory where their workers are making the bread by hand. You can tell they care about their customers

Have purchased a number of loaves of bread and always great. However yesterday purchased a loaf of pumpernickel for the first time and it was the absolute worst loaf of pumpernickel ever! Dense like a brick, wayyyy to salty, just the worst tasting thing ever.

Great great great bakery! What a find in the “wilderness”
Don't miss the maple creamy in their in-house baked cone. Seriously. Don't you dare miss the creamy. 😉

Cris Cote

Amazing bread, scones and especially great maple sticky buns. Beware weekend morning liberals but they are worth it.

Soup, salad, and golden milk were average (latte could have been hotter). Panini was on the small side and quite burnt. Not worth the more than $20 bucks for a quick lunch for two people.

Diane Stowell

Maple creemee with housemade waffle cone!

Love the bread and was in Middlebury so was excited to go to the Red Hen Bakery. We spend 100s if not 1000s of dollars on their bread (as I said, bread is great) but the person behind the counter was rude, practically ignored us, and was unpleasant when I tried to chat a bit about the bakery.

Been here several times, food is overpriced and decent but not great. Parking is a nightmare and the place is always packed often leading to long wait times to try and snag a table. People parking on the road often makes it difficult to pull out of when leaving.
