By far, a superior cup of coffee compared to anywhere else in town. One of the best mochas I have had in a very long time. Friendly service with smiles all around. If only all small, independent coffee shops were like this!

FINALLY a flat white made right (in NA). This is a friendly and fun place to hang: chat, work, relax, repeat.
Highly recommended. (Perhaps Middlebury is in the cards…)

Got a maple and a pumpkin spice latte. The PSL was good but the maple latte was probably the best one I've ever had, period. Many suffer from being too sweet for me, considering maple syrup by nature is sweet. This one was flavorful without being too sweet. All staff was wearing masks properly. The space feels like a living room that you could spend a nice long while in. Highly recommend.

Royal Oak is hands down my favorite coffee in Middlebury. As a student nearby, I visit often. The baristas and people are wonderful, and I am always impressed with my drink (and appreciate the latte art as well). Their flat white is impeccable, and their latte flavors are delicious– the cardamom vanilla in particular is super unique. The café is cozy and great for doing work, although it can get busy on the weekends. Their sister shop Lost Monarch in the Stone Mill is equally amazing, although the hours are more limited.

Lovely inventive latte flavors & delicious coffee but served far too cool. Even when asked for ‘extra hot’ it is decidedly lukewarm. A shame.

Stopped in to grab a coffee and snag some WiFi. The seasonal cardamom vanilla oat latte was very tasty and the drip coffee was smooth as well.
Very cute interior with a good amount of seating for the space (good WiFi and power outlets as well).
Thought it seemed very progressive and it was nice that had a diaper changing station with diapers in the bathroom.

Wow! Phenomenal! Exquisite! You have to try this place! Their coffee quality is above and beyond anything I’ve ever tasted my entire life! Also, their chocolate chip banana muffins are pretty bomb too!

Honestly after moving to the area, i haven't had a pleasant experience with a decent coffee place. But this place has made my top 3 list. I really enjoy the maple latte. It's my go to. And I prefer the coffee here over starbucks. Yup I said it. It's better.

A super lovely place! An important feature of cafés (in my opinion) is the nookiness of them. This place is SMALL, but they definitely worked in nooks to have some privacy, so it doesn't feel super open and exposed. The staff is really really nice, and the cardamom vanilla latté I got was AMAZING. And beautifully designed. There's strong wifi (45mb/sec!!), and there was a dog in here as well (so it might be pet-friendly? Definitely something to ask about). This is a lovely little café!

Amazing coffee, wonderful and caring staff and owners, delicious vegan baked goods. Awesome at accommodating dietary needs and my youngest LOVES their Babycino, hot cider and hot chocolate. Their place in the top 100 coffee shops in the country is a well-deserved accolade! Don’t miss this spot, or their other location The Lost Monarch!!
