Nothing beats in the middle of pouring rain you wanna find warm place just for a sip of hot coffee, and end up here in a cozy homey yet super charmingly decorated little corner coffee shop. Nicest staff, the croissantes are warm and fresh. Great place for friends gathering, dates, and small group meeting.

Ascension had become the new go-to coffee/brunch place for my wife and I when in the downtown Dallas area. All of their coffee is top notch especially their cold brew. There are a lot of food options as well and it's not the typical boring brunch food. My favorite is the salmon hash.

Also recommend buying their bagged coffee if you like to brew your own at home.

I've been looking for a place like this for so long and never found it in LA. This place has continental food, including breakfast, snacks, sandwiches, cheeseboards, delicious drinks including local craft beers, wine, sparkling wines, coffee, espresso, tea, plenty of tables, friendly waitstaff. Coffee is strong, food is rich. AND unlimited free wifi! Joey Appleseed. You can come here just to eat, or to do work, or catch up with friends. They have half price wine bottles in the evenings before close and live music. I just loved everything about this place. Only teeny negative was that there aren't many outlets. If you grab the big table in the back though, you should be ok.

While widely mentioned for being an exceptional coffee shop, the coffee itself and coffee shop atmosphere were rather lacking. The pour over coffee (an Ethiopian single origin) was noticeably dull in flavor suggesting the beans were a bit old. The wifi was slow to the point of being unusable.

However, the food was good. The tres leches coffee cake was quite tasty, though it was pricy and the top half of the cake was a bit dry. Watching other dishes get delivered also had our mouths watering.

The seating also lended itself for more of a restaurant environment making the coffee atmosphere a definite afterthought.

Besides my delicious iced coffee (lavender latte!) my experience at Ascension was poor. I felt like more of an inconvenience than a patron because I had gotten confused on where to order and sit. The waiting staff was frustrated with me even though I explained it was my first time dining here and remained unhelpful. The avocado toast and poached eggs were alright but I would maybe try something else on the menu.

Used to be a better place to eat. Now the portions have shrunk tremendously and the prices have increased. They also struggle to get orders. That’s horrible with the quantity of food you receive. You should be able to clearly see the order is wrong.

PHENOMENAL FLAT WHITES, takeout is fine, best when sipping it then and there - OUTSTANDING WAGYU BEEF REUBEN, big enough to share - FABULOUS SERVICE, both in and out seating - SELF or VALET PARKING AVAILABLE, complimentary valet service!

I enjoyed my lavender latte and espresso “cruffin” (croissant + muffin) very much this afternoon. However, it definitely wasn’t a typical coffee shop and seemed to be more of a lunch/brunch spot. The place being named a coffee shop seemed a little misleading. The parking lot is very tight for how busy it is, and they offer free valet parking. Definitely a bonus rather than being frustrated trying to wait for a spot to open up! Miguel treated me like a princess and I was happy to learn that he accepts tips via Venmo and several other apps.

Fantastic coffee shop. Honestly my taste buds have been blessed. This coffee has no "burnt aftertaste" but is also not bland. There is flavor to it. I got the lavender latte and it was hands down the best ive had in dallas (and ive tried many places while studying).

On top of that, the food is delicious. I got the croissant with bacon egg and cheese, and i'm shocked at the effort and quality of it. This wasn't some week old croissant with bland eggs and some cheese thrown in there. It was rich and perfectly balanced. The croissant was fresh and to my suprise there was tomato spread inside. So so good.

I will definetly be going back here soon to try more of their menu.

The one con to Acension is the prices. I door dashed the sandwich and coffee and it ended up being 28$. Obviously that includes delivery and tax but the items were already going to be around 19$. The croissant sandwich was 10$ which is really not reasonable. The coffee was 5.75$ (milk substitutes are 75 cents which is better prices than some places).

Overall, I recommend coming to check out this place. If you're looking to grab a coffee and snack from here, I would recommend just getting a pastry. The breakfast items don't seem to be meant for to-go. If you want a substantial breakfast here you're going to be spending 12-14$. I'm sure it's more worth it if you're actually getting the food on a plate instead of in a brown paper bag! Cheers 🥂 xo

And the staff very inviting. My waitress was very helpful with suggestions and she was very sweet...always had a smile on her face . Please keep people like this it makes a difference ..her name was Laura..I'll be going back for sure!!!!💗
