I really liked the vibe of this place. I sat in a big leather chair in the back, inside next to the kitchen door and the door close to the bathrooms. The wait staff was very nice and offered suggestions during the busy brunch Sunday. I ordered the mushroom coffee with an espresso shot and a mimosa. Then a Tex-Mex omelette with potatoes. All the food came out beautifully plated and hot. Sunday Brunch is busy, expect to wait a little. I suggest a designated food runner during busy times.

The hippie bowl was great but would be the best if the lentils and sweet potatoes were warm, was strange that they came cold. Heated it at home and it tasted much better. The horchata coffee is one of my favorites. I also had a “bowl” of soup here that was delicious, but it was $7 and definitely came in a cup, not even closely resembling a bowl. It’s pricey in my option.

I’ve had different customer service experiences here as well. The first time I went straight the the front and ordered, then sat to wait and it was pleasant, the gentleman behind the counter brought us water and check on us.

The second time we decided to let them seat us. Small wait, but they only had one server handling the entire patio. It took forever to get anything and then we couldn’t leave because we couldn’t get the servers attention for a to-go box and the check.

Ultimately, between the price point and customer service I’m less likely to come here.

I've been here a few times now and the food always hits the spot. I've had the brunch burger, smoked turkey club, and fried chicken sammie. All three have been amazing. My favorite though was the smoked turkey club, it was my first time having dill-caper spread on a sandwich! I also always get the frites, so crunchy and well seasoned ! They have a wide variety of coffee as well, however, I enjoy the drip coffee and haven't had a chance to try any other ones. My brother always gets the pancakes and a side of eggs. I'm not a big pancake fan but these are amazing! Would definitely recommend. Apart from the food, the atmosphere here is really nice. Super cozy, and the waiters are always attentive.
The artwork inside is one of my favorite things. They also have outside dining available. The only thing that can be a little tricky is the parking. I've been lucky enough to come when there's been parking spots available but it does get quiet full. Especially since there are apartments right next to it.

UPDATE 4/29/2023 - This is my third time visiting, I came with my mom the second time and enjoyed our stay, our food and the vibe. Our server was nice, she seemed new, but did a very good job at making us feel welcomed. My only complain would be for the Waffle and Chicken plate, the chicken was delicious, crispy, juicy, and well seasoned but the waffle was soooo small, I felt like they ran out of batter half way through. Other than that I enjoyed my visit, but on my third visit I decided to bring my family to try it out I felt like the service was lacking. We where left waiting for a while before we could order. We had asked for their lighter roast coffee, but received their dark, and when we told the server she said that we had the light roast. But I know what their light roast tastes like since this is something we discovered on our second visit. When the server brought us a refill of the coffee, it was the correct light roast, so we thought maybe she just served us from the wrong container the first time and did not notice, but on the third refill we where back to the dark roast. This time they were out of the chicken and waffles, we had ordered two of the Tex Mex omelets and they were missing the green cilantro on top, and one of them was really greasy. The pancakes were not as big or fluffy from my first visit. In all It was not a terrible visit, but it was no the best out of all the times I've visited, but unfortunately for the new people I brought they did not enjoy themselves.

I had a good experience with the service, so nice and professional. My visit was on a Sunday around 3pm, they were out of the French Toast and a couple of other things, they were very busy, so I decided on the pancakes. They were good, a little raw in the middle but they fixed that immediately. The pastries were delicious as were the drinks. My only complain would be that the chai latte was a little light on the flavor. Other that’s that I loved my visit and would be back again soon.

My mom gave me the heads-up on the launch of the White Rock location a couple of weeks ago. This new location on Garland Road, Ascension’s seventh location, renovated an 80-year-old East Dallas chapel. I had to see it for myself.

The space is gorgeous. My mom noticed the intimate layout of the tables would make for a great speed dating or networking venue. I do agree.

Things were a bit chaotic on opening day, so I ordered two golden milk lattes and a blueberry muffin to go. The brunch orders leaving the kitchen looked delicious, so I plan to return once the dust has settled and the weather is ideal for outdoor dining.

If you’re in the area, I’m sure they’d appreciate your support!

If you’re planning on going on a weekend for brunch, Make sure to join the Yelp waitlist before you arrive. It was a 45-60 min wait. However, we enjoyed the beautiful bees and a coffee while we waited. The chicken and waffle was delicious and we enjoyed a carafe of mimosas to wash it down.

This location is a must visit!!! It's a renovated church and it looks incredible! The outdoor patio is spacious and the fireplace is beautiful.
The staff are the best! They deserve so much praise as they are exceptional!
We only got drinks, but they were excellent! I will be back!!!

Went opening day and it was very busy, as expected. The service was amazing from the moment you walk in to when you leave. They make sure to take care of you. I had the slow bar pour over, coffee from Mexico, their burger and I took home a Shrooms and Cardamom latte.

The shrooms latte was very very good, I was surprised since I've never heard of mushrooms in coffee. It was sweet and earthy at the same time. It's become a personal favorite. 10/10 would highly recommend.

The cardamom latte wasn't sweet enough in my opinion. It tasted like a normal latte and I didn't really taste the cardamom but that doesn't mean it can't be good. They allowed me to try the syrup and it was amazing! So I was a bit surprised it didn't have a lot of flavor. I'm definitely trying it again because I know it can taste good, just ask for more syrup when getting it.

The pour over from the slow bar was really amazing. I had never tried a pour over before and I very rarely drink black coffee due to my sweet tooth but this coffee was so flavorful that I didn't need creamer or sugar. Highly recommend their slow bar, it's quite the experience.

Their burger was pretty good too. You can tell they put a lot of care into making the food. It came with a salad and it had the perfect amount of dressing, the croutons were really good too. It came with bacon and it was very juicy and it blended with the burger nicely. It's served on a brioche bun, which in my opinion is the only way to serve a burger.

All in all it was a really nice experience, the atmosphere was really nice and homey, the service was amazing and I highly recommend coming here. I'm not a professional reviewer by any means so if you really want to know if you'll like it, just go try it out. It's worth it

Ok, I will not edit the text of my first review and I will leave it down, but I will change my rating.
I was invited to go to Ascension and I said to myself, well let's see! We arrived around 11 am, there were several places available, they attend us quick and courtesy. Since the weather was warm, we decided to eat outside. As soon as we sat, they took out our order, service was fast, the waiter was very nice. I asked for a cortado and migas, hmmm exquisite! On point, the cortado, short and amazing, like an original cortado from Madrid. What can I say! The food and coffee are great, I think I will come back, but I will not give 5 stars, why? Because I still have the remembrance of my first experience and don't want to come in the regular eating hours you know breakfast at 9, lunch at 12 and dinner at 7, I am afraid I would not find a place.

Here my past and first impression:
The worst service ever! I know this is a new location, but for that reason you should be prepared! Come on! Are they Amateurs! I don't think so! Here my experience in detail....
I read the news about this new place, I really wanted to come! I reserved the President's Day to celebrate with my son. We arrived and went to the front, they told us I had to wait 35 minutes, I said yes! I can wait! No problem! I really wanted to try this new place! Well, after 35 minutes I came back inside, and yes! I was next! I was so excited! I was happy! So they provided us with a table, my son received one page to paint with colors, and we waited to be attended. NOBODY came to say even hi. I had to ask to a waitress who will attend us, and they informed me that there was a change of turn (2:10 pm) and we had to wait for our waitress to come to take our order. After 5 minutes more the same waitress came and said that she was not our waitress but she would take the drinks order at least, at this moment I'm not happy at all. I accepted though, I proceeded to order our drinks, they never arrived. Neither our waitress! After 35 minutes waiting outside and 18 minutes waiting inside, I decided it was better for me to leave. My child left crying, we really planned this to be a special day. NO ANYMORE, NO EVER!

So much more than Coffee! The addition of an Ascension Coffee in our White Rock Lake neighborhood, in such an artful way, is just what we needed. Arriving, you still appreciate many of the architectural elements of the church that use to call this space home. The outdoor seating, and colorful decor are perfect for dining, no matter what time of the day. Returning a few times now, I’ve had the opportunity to enjoy several of their amazing dishes, and coffees. Sharing is Caring! So, here are a few of our favorites. A Bar n Wagyu Pastrami Hash, Migas with Turkey, Asian Noodle Bowl, Rosibel siles Centeno slow bar coffee, & Banana Bread Muffin. The prices are comparable to other restaurants of this level in the area, so you’ll have no surprises here. If I had to mention something they could improve, it’s the service time, the servers are a delight, but the training seems to be lacking , especially with the tablets, and the efficiency of getting food, and coffee to the table quickly! I’ll definitely be back, and suggest you give them a try. You may even see me there! Xoxo Lorenzo!
