Ascension Coffee - Crescent Court

Bad experience. Very nice server admitted they lost my order after waiting over 30 minutes. Then instantly a cold flat bread showed up. I should have returned it. She said the Management would Comp it... in the end she said she’d buy my cup of coffee. Very bad food. But I would not have complained if I had not had to pay for parking ... they do not not pay for 3 hours...

I like Ascension Coffee. I have been regularly coming here since it opened. It is close to my home and a nice gathering place in the Crescent. However, for the last FOUR TIMES I’ve come here, the service has been absolutely over stressed and consequently terrible. One person at our table gets their food but no one else gets theirs until 10 minutes later. No one gets their coffee until half way through the meal. Tables don’t get cleaned and silverware doesn’t arrive until the food is cold. Everything that could be wrong is wrong. And this falls directly on the manager who should be fired. Horrible. Ascension has a good menu and good coffee. It has a captive, elegant audience. But the management is terrible and not qualified to have employees. So many good servers have left it’s hard to keep count. I can only assume that they are not willing to pay their servers and are treating them poorly. The service issue is not just at our table. Three other tables around us are having the same issues. And the most common word from the server is “Sorry”. Fire the manager and hire a new one so Ascension can live up to its name and ascend to its potential.

Great food and vibes. Service was great and recommended options it being me and my friends first visit.

The good: great coffee and delicious food

The bad: there is no priority on to-go orders. You can order a sandwich and it take 30 minutes while you stand there watching as your sandwich gets served to 5 other dine-in diners, it’s a real problem.

I’m really impressed by the cafe’s speed and finesse with the food. The food came out perfectly and held up (I had it delivered) and was so tasty. I had both the avocado toast and the sunrise bowl with an horchata latte. I was definitely full and satisfied and loved the variety I could get here with appropriate portions (not too big not too small).

Great selection of sandwiches and breakfast meals! Love the atmosphere and their coffee is fantastic!

Great location. Love the the relaxed atmosphere. Came here for their coffee only. I was not disappointed. My server karina was knowledgeable and helpful.

My coworker and I were asked to leave because we ordered our coffee on to go cups and sat down at a 2 person table. It was 3pm we sat down for about 5 minutes. There were at least 7 open tables. This was after paying $7 per small cup of coffee. Letting you guys know how it came across.
