Customer service was surprisingly not that great. Had to wait for someone to come to my table even though they weren’t busy at all and the waiter was looking at his phone the whole time. The coffee was pretty good but they had to remake it. I was bummed they don’t serve breakfast all day too! The atmosphere is beautiful so it’s a shame it wasn’t a better experience.

Has anyone seen our waiter?
This is the hardest 2 star review I’ve ever had to give bc I love this place. I just can’t find our waiter. The first time it happened I wrote it off, stuff happens, no big deal. The third time it happened, I wrote this review.
The food is great, the coffee is savory, the location, well it’s across the street from me - so convenient - and it’s dog friendly! We come here after walking our pup on the Katy trail, we come here after our pup has taken a nap for a mini “date night.” I come here when I work from home and want some energy and community.
So what’s the problem? I can not find my waiter. I stood at the hostess stand and saw a flurry of activity, there’s plenty of people working here. Just no one that can refill my water or bring my check.
From a restaurant owner perspective this is a great problem to have - being so busy that coverage suffers. From someone who lives in the neighborhood & is looking for an alternative to Starbucks, this makes me want to go back to the consistency of Starbucks.
I just wish they had a way to communicate internally, hey we are slammed, if you see someone looking for help and it’s not your table, stop and help them. Do it for the team.
Unfortunately, the vid is of me standing at the hostess stand, and noticing all the people working at that time. If just one of them looked up and said, “hey, we will be right with you! Just give us a sec” I would have been like, no prob! But that didn’t happen and this isn’t NYC where you can get away with bad service for a “cool” venue.
This is Dallas, and we are a friendly, welcoming bunch: we’ll take care of you, thank you for joining us! I just wish one of my favorite places realized how important that is.

This is cozy place to do afternoon work or have casual meetings at. I love going here for dates. They have small plates that are delicious. My favorite lattes here are almond latte, lavender latte and spiced chai latte. Their cheese plate is also very good. They do not offer soy milk. They offer regular whole milk, hemp and almond only. Also they have 50% off of their wine everyday after 5! Their wince collection is not too extensive but they have good options.

Such a cute place in such a beautiful spot. The coffee is so good, but im sure everyone already knows that. It’s dependable and the service is always good. It’s way better than Starbucks. It’s hard to ever go back there after being here. I highly recommend trying. Even if it is quickly on the go.

I tried ascension a couple years ago in the design district and liked that location a lot. This time the service was poor, the parking was difficult and the seating was crowded. The food and coffee were ok but not ground breaking enough to make me visit again

I went here for a meeting and the sign said "hostess will seat you" so I waited there for awhile without being greeted before moving to one of the standing tables. Overall the place might be nice if you enjoy upscale coffee shops with alcohol options but go to the counter unless you see a hostess there to seat you.

Lunch here was a really good experience. The chicken Caesar was one of best I've had in a long time. Excellent dressing and the chicken was tender. Top notch service and I would go back in a heartbeat.

We are from Australia and we’re so excited to see an Australian cafe as we were confident we’d have great coffee. Unfortunately this wasn’t the case, the coffee wasn’t ever hot enough, there was NO SUGAR at all brown or white and the barista had to pour sugar syrup into the milk which tasted terrible. We couldn’t order 1 shot or 3 shot coffee as we were told it’s 2 shots of coffee only (no initiative to pour out some coffee to make it equivalent to a one shot) then we were excited to see “Aussie bacon and egg roll” - we had 1 bite and threw it out, it was disgusting. Not at all an Australian bacon and egg. Whilst I recognise the need to localise food to American style, it was misleading -
Sweet and horrible. The coffee was ok, certainly better than most of America.
