Everything is good. The location is bigger than the Nederland Rao's. It's also cleaner and the baked goods tend to be fresher due to traffic volume.
Gets a 4 because if you buy prepackaged cookies there is a high chance they are old or stale.
Not sure if they're just left for sale longer or if they're packing unsold cookies.
Other than that, better of the surrounding locations.

The wifi is super inconsistent if it even exists at all. The password is not listed anywhere and when I asked all of the baristas if anyone knew what it was…no one definitively knew. This has happened at least five times within the past two months.

They have good options for vegan and vegetarian guests. Almond milk and coconut milk are almost always available. They have lots to choose from in regards to snacks and pastries. Great options, just wished the staff was a bit quicker. Takes so long to get coffee.

I'm 51 years young and traveled east coast to west coast and this is still my favorite bakery. I got a piece of favorite cake German chocolate and it still tastes like home. If you need one they have delicious King Cake for Mardi Gras. Coffee and service always warm and wonderful. The menu may have expanded these days but the old favorites are still there with one exception. I didn't see any gingerbread people a childhood favorite of mine. Hope you enjoy your visit as much as we did.

Just came to the Dowlen location tonight. I don’t come here often but i got two cupcakes. My friend bit into hers and told me it was extremely dry. So i turned around and came back. Since i hadn’t eaten mine, I asked the manager if there was any possible way to get a fresher one since i couldn’t replace both since my friend bit hers. The Manager had an attitude and tried to argue with me. Poor customer service on his part and we won’t be giving this location our business anymore.

We recently tried this location as well as what I believe is the original location . We really enjoyed our visit to the other location better. Today (at the mall location) our kolaches tasted old and a little stale, was disappointed to not see any donuts. There were several tables that needed cleaned up for the majority of the time we were there, and the silverware holders (by the coffee station) really needed restocked (and wiped out/cleaned) Our drinks and cinnamon rolls were really good though!

I do not reccomend this location. I used to be a frequent customer but I decided to switch to Starbucks where customer service, kindness and respect are standard. Today I had a very bad experience there wasn't lack of respect and customer service. I do not recommend this place.

The Hazelnut Moca frappuccino was good. It took 30 minutes for it and I was lied to by the barista about who's order was placed first. I compared time stamps with said person, and mine was in fact placed 15 minutes before them but they still left before me. I will not be going back to this location, I'll wait for the other location to open on week days.

Favorite place!!!
EDIT: I go to Rao's Bakery every single time I'm in Beaumont or Nederland. I've been doing this for over 10 YEARS! It's always been my favorite place. It looks like they have been doing some updating to the Beaumont location, which is wonderful. Except, I ordered a GRILLED chicken salad sandwich the other day and it was nothing like it used to be. It was given to me on microwaved bread. I was told that they no longer have a panini maker to grill their sandwiches and they also use a different bread which makes this sandwich half the size it used to be. When the lady handed me my bag I thought the bag was empty, that's how little this sandwich was. I've ordered this sandwich over 50 times and it was always perfectly grilled with a generous amount of chicken salad.
They have also raised the prices on their frappuccinos that are already too expensive. I paid $6 for a large Kona Mocha that's only 16oz (medium). I have purchased well over 300 of these drinks throughout the years. It's sad to see the quality go down and the prices go up.
The lady at the drive thru was very nice and made me a bigger sandwich. I wont be ordering them anymore. I cant justify spending an outrageous amount on a tiny sandwich. I was told I'm not the first person to say something either. Rao's has always been an indulgence for me. I knew I was splurging when I went there and I was fine with that because I always got quality food and I loved the environment, but raising the prices on drinks that are already overly priced is really sad.
