Food is good (your standard Mexican food fare). Service is RIDICULOUSLY SLOW. Everyone around us including we were craning our necks looking for servers. Husband had to get up after 10 mins to go ask for a water refill while all the waitstaff hid out in the back kitchen area.

Had a late breakfast that included good migas w/cheese and a barbacoa taco. Bland for mexican food, but I don't like spicy. The chips and sala were excellent. Service was slooooow but I think this might be normal for this area.

Sometimes - not always - the wait for food can be a bit long (say, more than 15 or 20 minutes). But for me, at least, that's a minor inconvenience compared to the enjoyment of this comfort food. I grew up in a border town, so I kind of know my way around Mexican food. They have the best Gorditas around, and I've looked. Shrimp Fajita Quesadillas are big enough to share, breakfast tacos are inexpensive and fresh. Although I'm not a huge fan of their salsa, their home made Pico de Gallo more than makes up for it. Very moderately priced, and staff and owner are great.

Anita's is our absolute favorite Mexican food restaurant in town. The food, the service, and the atmosphere is wonderful. We've tried every Mexican spot in Bastrop, and Anita's is easily the most fresh and delicious. If you're looking for greasy small-town Tex-Mex, sorry - This might not be what you're looking for. But if you want authentic Mexican food, Anita's is the place to go.

My husband and I eat here often for breakfast and lunch. I don't eat meat, so my go-to is their migas plate (with queso) or their potato flautas. My husband is obsessed with their puffy tacos. We've never had a single disappointing experience at Anita's. The food is always dangerously delicious, the staff is always friendly and attentive, the value is amazing, and the food comes out really quickly - even when they're super busy.

We've never been here for dinner or tried their drinks, but I'm sure it's just as delicious.

Admittedly their chips are from a box. House made salsa. House made tortillas. Great Carne Guisada rice and beans.

Good food, tacos are the best... prices are a little high compared to all the other Mexican places surrounding Bastrop. Decor and furniture is a bunch of oddball things thrown into one room while looking at their restock boxes. Service is always good.

Not so good today. Chicken quesadillas burned on outside, mysterious, somewhat grisly meat inside. Refried beans had a hint of fish to the taste, not something one looks for in refried beans! Salsa was mostly tomato. Usually better food here...

I guess you have to a local to get the good service. Been here 2 hours and most of it spent waiting. Waiting for drinks, waiting to place order, waiting for food and waiting for the check. Never got our chips and salsa. Food was okay but definitely not worth the wait. Won't be back.

Looking for homemade flour/corn tortillas. This is it! Good real authentic Mexican food for sure!

Decided on Anitas for mothers day and ended up Waiting quite a while for our food and a mimosa. Our meals were good but not 75.00$ good. Portions were small and menu was misleading ordered the monterrey chicken and got fajitas covered in cheese. The description said chicken breast not strips. But maybe if we return I'll order something different.
