Once upon a time, this was a good place to eat. The last few times I've been the wait staff only came to take our order and bring food. I had to get up to ask for the check. The food was cold and the order was incorrect. It's not what it used to be. $5.00 non-cash service charge, really???? But go see for yourself....maybe you'll have a better experience.

Tacos are good but the tortillas are super thick. I also tried the chipotle fish tacos, waaaay too salty and they don’t come with the typical Mexican sidings like guacamole. However, everyone there is nice. We loved everyone working at Anita’s! Service is great!

Well honestly, I believe people go here because of the location, it's hard to explain, it's like the place has a scent and the food taste just like it, and I felt like it's a bit over priced, which really that's not a problem, but when the food isn't worth the money, yeah, it's a problem, went once because my husband was persistent we try it, but won't go back. And the waitress was busy on her phone or talking to the other waitress, the only good thing was the drink and was never offered a refill.

Drinks are great! I think they have the best rice and beans in town!!
Nothing fancy but always good.

You have to seat yourself, which I'm never a fan of, because it takes a minute for you to actually be served. The service was polite, and the restaurant was clean.
The food was really good, and hot. The barbacoa was tasty and the puffy tacos were also good. Nothing was left on our plates, would recommend as a place to go for good food with friends.

Have to say that this was the highlight of our weekend trip to Bastrop! We tried other restaurants in the area, and this surpassed them all. My husband had the combo taco and the egg and bacon taco for breakfast. I had the Mexican chorizo scrambled with eggs, refied beans and fried potatoes plate. My plate was served with 2 flour or corn tortillas. I opted for flour tortillas. It was all delicious! I highly recommend you try them out. The staff is very friendly and attentive! Will definitely stop by again, whenever I am in the area.

Very disgusted with the service over the phone and yet they had expected a 20-25 tip even when there wasn’t delivery. When I went to pick up they seemed very impatient and going home with upside down containers of food. Very messy but yet they wanted a tip

As a local and a frequent visitor, this place is really good 87% of the time. Service, take-out, and wait times are definitely not efficient, and they’ll short change you pretty much every chance they get (the most I’ve ever been short is $0.25, but the fact they never ask or say my change was rounded down is a bit off). The things that they do well they REALLY do well. Tortillas, chips, beef and breakfast tacos, always make it on my order during my Sunday breakfast runs.

Nice service but the food wasn’t good. The fluffy tacos were too thick and dense and the meat was too rich. They needed some lime or guacamole to cut through it. My friend had the street barbacoa tacos which were way too oily. Her plate was swimming in oil. It’s a shame. The building is beautiful and the staff was great.

Anita’s is a Bastrop favorite for fresh, well prepared Mexican food. They make their corn and flour tortillas fresh in house by hand. Their staff are kind and attentive. Highly recommend!
