The experience was phenomenal!!! Our waitress had execptional customer service and the atmosphere was homey yet outgoing due to all the customers there. I loved it!! I would definitely return if I'm in the area!

Café Strudel is one of the places everyone goes to in West Columbia for good reason. Their brunch is leagues above other places. The loaded hash browns are incredible. The pancakes, immaculate. The coffee, sweet and delicious. The restaurant doesn't have a ton of seating, so definitely call ahead. It can be a little expensive, but it's worth it! They have catering, so if you need them for an event, they can do it!

This is our favorite breakfast place in West Columbia which we rate at 5 stars. They also have a second location in Lexington, SC. They also serve lunch and dinner. We have been here several times for breakfast whenever we are in Columbia and the food never disappoints. Some of our favorites are the hangover hash-browns, breakfast quesadillas, and build your own omelette. A side of the hash browns are a good choice and they also have freshly squeezed orange juice. They have a coffee bar and you can ask for a to go cup. The wait can exceed an hour on Sunday morning, but their customers wait. On the weekdays, we have always walked right in with no wait. Parking places can be tough to find on State Street, but check their website for the parking arrangements they have with the local businesses. You can also use the side streets or their rear parking lot.

We were visiting family in Columbia and looked for a brunch spot, and were we ever glad we happened upon Cafe Strudel. The vibe is modern eclectic Southern, and nothing about our visit disappointed. We started with a pitcher of the Paloma Mimosas, which were both potent and delicious. We tried the Low Country Hash browns and Brisket Hash with the addition of a biscuit and single piece of the Hawaiian Pineapple French Toast.

All I can say is wow. The brisket was thinly sliced, tender, and well seasoned. The sweetness of the roasted bell peppers and onions mixed with the crispy bits of hash brown and the creamy queso made this dish worth every penny and truly a delight.

The fried green tomatoes on top of the low country has were perhaps a tad underseasoned, but their texture was on point (not mushy at all with a nice bite), and the pimento cheese seemed to have a touch of horseradish - a tasty surprise. The shrimp were sweet and well cooked.

The biscuit was just a little past done - slightly too dark for perfection, but it was fluffy underneath the crispiness and not dry in the slightest. And wow to the French toast - sweet, salty, custsardy, soft, and crispy deliciousness.

Overall the only bad part of the whole experience was their quirkiness of using mismatched silverware had me using a baby fork that I was able to switch with my partner who likes small ones. But yeah, what a great spot for a Saturday brunch. Highly recommend!

Cafe Strudel is a Columbia brunch staple. I had an awesome experience. I ordered the smoked salmon omelette with a mango peach mimosa and a side of hash browns. Everything was delicious. I was seated quickly. My waiter was very friendly and courteous. I will definitely be coming back.

So I had some time to kill and looked up breakfast spots that was near me. And this was the one I leaned toward. It had good reviews and a decent amount. So when I pulled up. I noticed it. I had driven past it quite a few times. Not alot of parking. And take out orders are suppose to be done online only. Which was a bit of a bummer. But they ket me sit in the store and order mine on my phone. It was packed when I went in. Which is always a good sign. The food took about 25 min. They even sent a text message telling me my order was ready. The food was pretty good. I didn't get anything special. Just pancakes eggs and shrimp. But the pancakes were huge. And I got 2ic shrimp and grits. And she liked it. It had to be good she ate it all. The online ordering I wasn't a fan if. But I think sit in is or would be a better experience. I definently reccomend this spot. For breakfast.

Food was just ok. I don't understand the hype about this place. My hashbrowns were so hard I could not eat them, when I let my server know, she replied, "Oh, I'm so sorry. And then put them on my bill. We won't be back.

The place was crowded so they asked us to sit outside in back. No problem. After ordering our food the general manager came out and told us they would be adding $25 to our bill for bringing in a cake from Publix. We had not even opened it and she could have kindly spoken to someone in our group about their policy. Instead she announced it with no explanation. We were truly so surprised we asked out waitress about it. She apologized and said they have this policy because they sell desserts. I searched the menu online and can’t find such a policy. Had the manager taken a moment to speak to my very nice family she would have found out that three different families had driven an hour and a half each just to meet at that restaurant to celebrate not only birthdays, but my mother ringing the bell last week for finishing her chemo for cancer. Instead my mother got to pay an extra $25 because she wanted to share a cake with her family. And, we were the only family outside eating. No one had even seen our cake.
