Grumpy's Cafe

Today is my lucky day. They have gluten free toast! Basic breakfast was great. This is a small town, so I'm sure we will be back for lunch.

We visited Grumpy’s everyday while staying Rockaway. With limited food choices, especially in the morning, I was so happy that we found this hidden gem. From the biscuits and gravy, to the bacon, to the croissant breakfast sandwich— even the fries… *chefs kiss*
Get there early as it is a small establishment that fills up quickly.

First off.... this restaurant is VERY clean! Even the light fixtures and bulbs were clean. Secondly, food was very good, we had a ham breakfast burrito and croissant breakfast sandwich. Then we bought a peach pie and blackberry bread for later- both were very good. Our service was also excellent and all staff we encountered was very friendly.

Grumpy's was more expensive than I remembered from a pre-covid visit, which is to be expected. The fish, slaw, sauces , tots and garlic toast were delicious. The clam strips were rather chewy but good. Nice food, nice service

Took forever to get our order taken. Hashbrowns weren't done all the way. When I went to pay we gave a tip to the waiter and the cashier was rude and said he was upset that I didn't leave a tip. And they had to close just before lunch crowd because the other cook didn't show up.

From the atmosphere to the food! An all around incredible experience. The country fried steak breakfast is indescribable!! It’s just... WOW!! The service is absolutely amazing. Our server was absolutely wonderful with my 7 year old. From the moment we walked in, it is very warm and inviting place to fill your tummy.

Food was really quite good, especially the sausage. Waitress was not very attentive or friendly. When we came in we waited several minutes at the “wait to be seated sign” and we’re barely acknowledged and she pointed to where we should sit. She might have been overwhelmed, I think she was the only one and managing all the tables.

Lives up to its name. Horrible service, poor food prep. Witnessed one table leave after waiting an hour for food, another refuse to pay, front staff arguing with cook staff through kitchen window. Felt ill post lunch, should of just left like the others after waiting 47 minutes for a Club sandwich and chicken tenders. Raw, frozen fries.

Now you know why it is called grumpy,s. Lol when we went in the lady that was the only one there beside the cook
Was sitting there having a cinnamon roll and coffee. She did not get up to take our order. Before she was done with her food and coffee. Didn't smile once . But the food was great

This is a great place to get a good hearty breakfast. There was a bit of a wait which I didn't mind. Breakfast was delicious. My only complaint was that I was not allowed to order a side of bacon. The lady who helped us was very grumpy and helped set the vibe. Overall we enjoyed our visit. Would come again
