Grumpy's Cafe

They seem to be living the brand, but maybe more sullen than grumpy. Coffee default seems to come without sugar or cream but a polite request eventually brought them to my table. Eggs and bacon were sturdy and filling but I wonder whether I have a heart defibrillator in my future.

Such a great place, we had to go back for the 2nd time! We had an amazing server who went above and beyond. The food was fantastic! **Warning chips (aka pancakes) are enormous in size and so delicious with a sweet cream batter. For meat choices, no brainer, go for the sausage patties! It's got small town charm, and some lovely bakery displayed pastry items. My mom raved over the turnovers! A couple drawbacks...limited seating, and scarce parking, Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend and will definitely be going back!

After reading reviews of good and bad we had to go see for ourselves and I want to say we both thought it was good. It's a Thursday morning and the place was packed, so we knew going in that it would be a wait for our food. I would say if you are in a hurry don't go. I didn't time how long it took to get our food as we were not in a hurry and there were 6 tables ahead of us waiting. I would say all the food came out faster than I expected and the 2 people working the tables, cashier etc were nice and made sure we had everything we needed after our food came. The food was good and we will go back again when we are in town. We didn't find anyone to be grumpy like other posts have mentioned.

Small diner, cute ambiance. The waitress was clearly overwhelmed by the few tables and got grumpy like the name when I asked for cream cheese with the bagel?... the bacon alone could get 15 stars! So thick and amazing! And the only real reason I would go back. I also watched the server turn away customers that wanted take out by telling them that their order would automatically go to the end of the ticket line. Turning away business is never a good thing.. and the disgust on their face tells me they will be sharing that experience too..

This place definitely lives up to its name. Ordered breakfast to go and the woman helping me acted like she couldn’t be bothered. No customer service at all. Ordered breakfast sandwiches which were edible but nothing to brag about, and some pastries. The cinnamon roll went right into the garbage. It was dry and tasted like it was made days ago. I asked for it to be warmed up and the woman was annoyed then put it in the microwave. Who eats cold, stale cinnamon rolls? Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Overall pretty disappointing..

Had breakfast today with my family. Server/hostess was incredibly warm and welcoming to my toddler. That was really nice after the owner looked over at her and said “aren’t you loud!” When she was creating a very moderate amount of noise for a hungry 18 month old (while being attended to/quieted..it’s not as if I was ignoring my child and allowing her to disturb the restaurant)…my daughter responded by repeatedly apologizing.

Who does this to an innocent child?? Let alone the owner? I was so upset I was rendered speechless.

..Her decorum (the owner) was in general, that of someone who shouldn’t work with people, period. She was incredibly rude to us for absolutely no reason.

Grumpy? No, just sad..

Food was hit or miss, I ordered the breakfast burrito and it had little Italian sausage bits like for pizza (???) in it. Yuck. Very strange because we also ordered the French toast (I think it’s called the guppy) plate and it had really yummy actual breakfast sausage on it.

I cannot emphasize enough how kind the server/hostess was to us. They single handedly redeemed the experience. I didn’t even bother sending back my burrito since the server was working double as hard since the owner apparently walked out in the middle of our order..

This place has potential to be really wonderful but overall I don’t think I’ll be back.

Got the #2. It was a good sized breakfast for me. Wife got the Guppy #1 which was enough food for her. Service was great! Waitress always checked in on us. Coffee was nice and hot. We were unsure as to where to pay so we left the bill with tip on the table.

Scott did so well by us! Excellent food, attentive and kind service. Well worth the two year wait. Best bacon I’ve ever had in my life…

Best breakfast we've had in a long time! Fantastic food, atmosphere and the wait staff is awesome!

Hope you're not in a hurry to eat....
Hell, getting a cup of coffee took 20 min and no one would even come refill it. Definitely won't be visiting this place again.
