The Depot Restaurant

Fish was over cooked and rubbery. The shrimp both fried and bay was good. Way overpriced for what you got. To top it off the least friendly waitress I have ever see.

It was okay but I found the menu to be too limited. I had never been there and I didn't know they were almost exclusively a seafood restaurant. It was fine for everyone else but I didn't want fish and the only other thing was chicken strips which were okay but nothing outstanding. The fries were good, tasted like they were fresh not frozen. Everyone else said their meal was very good.

The food here is good. The fish is lightly breaded and clean. The scallops are tasty. The fries are not to my taste, thick and partially soft. The shrimp salad is fresh and piled high with bay shrimp, but if you get a platter, it comes with the salad flanked by fries and fish. This makes the salad warm. If you order to go, they put the salad in a separate box, though. I did not like the fried oysters. Be aware the building is tiny and seating is limited. Tables need to be leveled. Staff is very nice.

Had heard great things about the fish and chips here for years, finally got some take out. Fish was moist and flaky, breading not my cup of tea. Ordered Calamari as well, listed on menu as lightly dusted tentacles and tubes, so you would assume fresh. It came fully breaded, uniform shapes, which seemed like processed. A little rubbery.
Prices are on the upper end of reasonable.

I really wanted to love The Depot, because it is such a cute little place; but the food was a bit of a let down.

I ordered a lunch portion of fish & fries, and while the coating had a decent crunchiness to it, the fish itself was tough, chewy, and rather flavorless. Definitely overcooked.

The fresh cut fries were delicious, but I ended up using a fork to eat them with because they were so greasy. They really weren't very crispy on the outside, but they were fluffy and flavorful.

Since fish & chips are supposed to be the big draw for this place, I can only give it a 3-star rating.

I’ve been curious about this place since we always pass by it! We finally visited a couple of weeks ago.

The restaurant has a very homey feel to it. Has a bar and lots of booths to sit at. Cool fish tank that’s kept very clean. This place fosters lots of regular customers, I can tell.

The food was fine. Nothing to write home about. I was expecting something much more yummy and flavorful. My husband and I LOVE fish and chips (and food in general). But this was just okay. Not bad at all! Just okay. We came here once and I’m not dying to come back, although I’d be curious to go back and try something different maybe. We split a medium or large fish and chip platter with a salad. They were generous with their sauces, which was nice.

A perfectly adequate place for a quick lunch or dinner. Place is clean and a bit funky. Service is friendly. Food is okay and just about what you expect; fried everything.

Not impressed with the food at the Depot. Expected a much better fish and chips. We wanted a comparison to our favorite place. We'll stay loyal to Loafers.

The Best Fish and Chips and cold beer around. Andrew and Crew are amazing! Give them a visit!!!

Great food. Great friendly service love the atmosphere. All the fun decorations all worth the price!
