The Depot Restaurant

One of my friends raved about the fish and chips at this place. I was really disappointed. I'd rather drive an hour and a half to the Porthole in Depoe Bay, which has fish and chips truly worth raving about, than the 20 minutes here. Atmosphere is kind of depressing. Wouldn't go back.

One of my favorites!, this restaurant has been an Albany staple forever I can remember coming here as a kid if that gives you any clue as to how long its been around. Their 1000 island dressing is fresh made there and is perfect for the Shrimp or Bonny crunch salad !

My first time visiting this place and I was disappointed, I was waiting 30 minutes for my food and they never brought me anything, until I asked and they told me that there was confusion in the order of the orders. so I got up and left this place😡😡

The food was not impressive. Tartar sauce was mainly sweet relish. "Home fries" were burnt. Clam chowder was mostly potatoes with the skin on still. The only fish on the menu was COD. Brought my son here for a going away dinner. Absolutely disappointed in spending $80 for food for 3 people that no one liked.

Everything was great! It didn't make it home in time for any photos. Captains platter with a sampling of all the fried foods, chicken strips, and clam strips.

Ordered take out and the food was hot and fresh, ready for pickup about a half hour after I called. Inside the restaurant reminds you of your typical coastal town seafood restaurant aesthetic.Fish tanks, fishing nets, and maritime decorations dotted in every corner. Expect to pay 12-24$ a plate (small, medium, large servings), but thats to be expected for the best seafood in town.

You must try their lemonade. We also love Aunt Frans smoothie which is this delicious smoked salmon dip. We go just for that most of the time! My wife also loves the crunch salad and the chowder is always good. They do fried fish and appetizers too. Great local seafood spot.

The fish and chips were ok. Fries made fresh. Not too many vegetarian options.. Lots of food for the $$ Family friendly, LGBTQ & People of color will be noticed. Staff was very friendly, the locals not so much..

Why this place has such a high rating is beyond me. If you’re in Albany and can try something else, please do. Had family that recommended and they may be disowned.

First, the atmosphere is eclectic which is cute. With that said, if you have that much decor than you should employ staff that will dust/clean it instead of standing around talking to one another or in our case today, were more interested in tik tok than checking on their paying customers.

Next, we ordered a 2 piece fish meal that came with fries and salad combo. All of which were placed on the same small plate when served. The fish we both would have enjoyed if it were not sat next to a watery salad and made the bottom soggy. So soggy I didn’t eat the second piece. I enjoyed the fries but my husband thought they were too greasy. Guess we’ll chalk the fries up to personal taste preference.

Ultimately we would not come back nor recommend to anyone we liked. Too bad for Albany as this has been a long standing business that appears to have been dragged down hill badly.

Great service, they were on top of drink refills and the sea food was delicious.

I've been going to the depot for about 40 years and never had any complaints until now, I don't know if they got a different supplier or they're just trying to cut costs because the food was not up to par and I was extremely disappointed with the food I received and so was the person I was with, if they don't fix this I am not going back, higher prices smaller portions overcooked and just plain wrong, I never thought I'd have a bad review for the depot but there it is. I would have been better off going to Long John Silver's! July 22nd 2022
