This is a very cute vintage, family style diner that serves breakfast all day. They opened in 1940! The atmosphere is fun and relaxing. The service is incredibly friendly and polite. The restaurant is clean and the food is good. We enjoyed our visit.

Great server, but this place is selling canned corned beef hash, doesn't seem right to be charging us $12.00 for a can of corned hash haha. What is this world coming to. I could have literally bought a can for $1.25 and made this home , but it's Sunday and you know. My bf has been wanting to try this place as we pass it all the time. I'm very disappointed. Thankfully we split the dish since we don't eat much! I imagine other items that won't come out the can maybe would taste better. Idk 🤷🏾♀️

Great prices, great food, great service. Hands down the best regular grits around. They are not the instant grits that you find at a lot of places, these remain the same consistency even if you don't eat them till the end of your breakfast. They don't turn into one big sticky lump.

Went there in 2022. We moved out of state so coming back to Ohio to visit The Whip was at the top of my list to visit to eat. I always loved it for their reasonable breakfast. I loved their grits. Out of this world. The coffee tasted like rocket fuel. I poured in lots of cream and it was still dark. It was like it was burnt. We always had quick service but the waitress was so slow. She was actually cooking the food and serving. She blamed one of the original old time waitress didn't come in. There was a dishwasher there too and thats it. Still has a old musty smell to it inside. The place surprised me it was still open. I guess it was closed for awhile in 2021. I was told the covid pandemic really effected the place. Can't get good help. Really sad. We're coming back to Ohio this summer and I'm willing to give it another chance again. I lived in Parma Hts nearly 40 years. Always a favorite to go too. I hope it at least returns back to good service. Maybe the day we went they were short staffed and things were crazy. I know it happens. Wish them the best.

been 48 years since we ate there. We're no longer in Cleveland but my husband and I just We're talking about how great the food was. A favorite of ours, never disappointed. Curiously Googled to see if they were still there. Congrats to your longevity!!! ☆☆☆☆☆☆

Very quaint little diner. The decor is very dated like some other reviews mention but it feels nostalgic & homey...in my opinion it's the best part of the dining experience. The pancakes are our favorite - they are massive & quite filling.

Linda is amazing! You can taste when food is made with love. The food here is made with love. This is my favorite place to come on my break from work. You feel like family here. Highly recommend

Been 20 years since been here. Won't be back. Stopped in on a whim. Poor service, dry flavorless burger. Fries had a fishy taste as they must have been cooked in same oil as the fish. "Pepsi" tasted like a mix of pool water and Pepsi to quote my son! Sorry but if you run a restaurant be pleasant to your customers, greet them with a smile, fill their glasses, check in to see how things are and act like you care even a little bit. Oh, and offer to take plates away when done instead of walking by our table like we're not even there. Pretty basic stuff. Service makes a difference especially if the food is very average. Do better.
