This coffee house is very trendy and well designed. It has comfortable and fashionable furniture and decor. The staff is very polite and prompt. They have a wide variety of coffees and teas and other beverages. I was a little disappointed at the selection of muffins and scones though. We went a little after noon on a Monday and they only had one bacon scone, some cookies and a few different kinds of muffins. The blueberry muffin was very good though.

This coffee shop is very beautiful and the girl who helped us was very kind. I came here with my wife riding our bicycles, she saw the coffee shop driving back home and so we decided to come here to try their drinks. I had a latte with oat milk, it was ok, but not so good, my wife had an Arnold Palmer and didn't like the lemonade to tea ratio. I am giving 4 stars just because the place is beautiful and the girl was very kind, according to the drinks I had to give 2 or 3 stars.

The quiche was a perfect size, texture and taste were very good! Very cool hang out spot. Coffee comes out screaming hot, but tasty.

Never before been here but I’ve been wanting to for so long! The parking is awful, I had to park on the street. Everyone (primarily the workers) loves to stare and give looks which was intimidating and made my sister and I not feel welcome. I felt rushed to order but I still didn’t know what I wanted because I’ve never been here… so I asked the girl behind the counter. To which the other workers stared even harder and the girl could barely hear us asking for help. Her help was not useful, I wanted an explanation or direction, she seemed new and young and I was overwhelmed. Then I paid $9.50 for a tiny box of biscuits and gravy that are not original. They were bland and not what I expected, especially for $10. My sister ordered a cinnamon dulce latte and it wasn’t very sweet. She asked for more sweetness to which the girl got an attitude. Everything was just uncomfortable and I will never be back.

I had a very pleasant experience at Metropolitan Coffee! It was small but super cozy on the inside. There were people discussing prototypes for their new business, others studying, and others enjoying their coffee while catching up with friends— it is definitely a unique place for enjoying your day. I got a cinnamon roll cupcake and a mocha which were both spectacular!

Do you like inner city quirky cool coffee clubs? Then don't miss this place. No matter the day it seems to have a full share of patrons. The Muffins especially the Cranberry Orange are fresh and satisfying - just the right size with a 'cup of Joe and on the the Go'. Prices are right and the service help is authentically friendly and happy to please. The only downside is the small parking lot is always filled but hey nothing like being snuggled up to friends who all appreciate the same thing.

I had a great experience at Metropolitan Coffee! The biscuits and gravy (with sausage) were very tasty and “hit the spot.” The coffee was nice and strong. My wife got a dirty chai latte and won’t shut up about how good it was. I will definitely be coming back soon!

I grew up down the street, worked in the original building 50+ years ago when it was a small grocery and butcher shop and recently retired to North Carolina. More than quality coffees, satisfying foods and locally-created art, Metropolitan Coffee is a inviting, tastefully-designed, locally-owned and operated "anchor" business that captures the sense, sensibility and eclectic vitality of Old Brooklyn's past, present and future potential. A great place to spend time alone or with family, friends or business associates, from wherever you come.

I wanted to post this a while ago, but here it is! My 2 year old son is allergic to peanuts and tree nuts, so finding somewhere we can enjoy a snack (while I get my coffee) together is not always easy. I wanted to confirm at the register that the shop was indeed nut free- the owner over heard and immediately introduced herself and told us about why she made it this way! It was so nice to be somewhere that cares about allergies. All the food and coffee is amazing and we can’t wait to come back!
