Metropolitan Coffee

They make a great cappuccino! The place is comfortable, clean, and tastefully decorated.

Update: 5/3/19, I just tried the Brazilian coffee and it is my new favorite! Thanks ladies. Yum...and that Blueberry bunt cake was very tasty too. 2018 - Finally a great spot for coffee and a nibble so close to my neighborhood. I would much rather come to a locally owned coffee house that has such a friendly and inviting feel to it then a chain. It is a very good addition to the Old Brooklyn area. The overall look is very appealing inside and out. It's about time that there are more new businesses taking up occupancy here. I also saw in the paper that in mid-July Lilly Handmade Chocolates will be moving into the area too. Just down the street from the Metropolitan on Schaaf Rd.. They are moving here from Tremont. Wow, great coffee and great chocolates how can you beat that!

I love this coffee shop! Such a great atmosphere, wonderful for studying or working. Can get a little loud sometimes. But the coffee is wonderful

This is what a coffeehouse should be. super nice people and killer beans! A true variety for the true coffee lover! And a really nice lounge to add! And local merchandise!

Metropolitan Coffee provides a complete coffee shop experience. Metropolitan has wifi, parking, a patio, plenty of seating (with outlets), coffee(Rising Star), treats, friendly staff, Cleveland themed art and goods, and an environment that invites anyone to sit and stay a while.
Additionally, it offers Yoga classes, participates in City Fresh, and is involved with neighborhood and city events.

The southern corner of of Portman and Broadview used to be a closed convenience store. Now, it's a locally owned, neighborhood focused business where anyone can go to enjoy coffee and each other's company. It seems clear that the purpose of Metropolitan is to provide a quality environment and experience to everyone in the neighborhood of Old Brooklyn and the greater Cleveland area. It does just that.

Had a wonderful experience at this cafe! It was busy when we arrived (which I took to be a good sign), and the staff did an amazing job treating each guest with care and warmth, while keeping the line moving. I couldn’t resist adding one of their in-house flavors to my cafe au lait, which was delicious! They’ve been strategic with the food menu, doing a few things brilliantly. The grits were flavorful, hot, and generously topped with cheese, scallions, and bacon crumbles. Next time I’m in town, I’m excited to try some of the sweet options from the pastry case! There is plenty of seating, and the decor is lovely.

Have been here multiple times to give this honest review. I love the coffee but would not come back again. Here is why:
- Parking is horrible. Quite often that I came and had to drive to other coffee shops because of not having a parking space. Even the parking area is tiny, but they somehow try to make a drive-through out of it.
- The service is super slow. I waited for 35 minutes for my coffee in the drive-through today. That is longer than waiting for my meal in the restaurant. If there is not enough staffs, then hire more people! (The previous time was ~20 minutes)
- After waited for 35 minutes for my cup of coffee, I received a plain coffee with no flavor, no syrups, no sugar, completely opposite to what I ordered.
- Overpriced. With how much they charge for a cup of coffee, they can afford to hire more people to make the service better, quicker and higher quality.

I would love to support local business but this is not it. I would rather go to Starbuck for faster/better service, bigger size and cheaper cost.
