I keep giving this place chances, but I keep getting terrible service. Food quality has gone severely downhill in the past year and consistently seems understaffed leading to aggravated servers/bartenders. I had very high hopes for this place as a true cocktail bar despite the food service, however they have removed that aspect of the restaurant almost entirely. I reckon the owners/managers should just quit making promises that they fail to deliver on.

On a chilly January Monday evening my wife and I invited friends in town for an appetizer and drink downtown last night and were once again blessed and impressed with all aspects of our experience at The Mulberry House. Our server happened to be Emily Giffin who offered exceptional care and enthusiasm to our gathering with attentive and kind but non intrusive regular visits to our table. What a treasure we have in such a downtown place to meet at so many hours of the day and with such stellar servers as Emily! In fact I am going back with a team from my church today at lunch!

We went to the Mulberry House on New Year's night to celebrate my daughter's 40th birthday. The restaurant was clean and beautiful. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The ambiance was perfect for celebrating. We sat and enjoyed the fellowship until the food came out. That is when everything went south. The food was horrible. It was the worst I have eaten in a restaurant, and that is without exaggeration. I ordered the beef stroganoff. First, I was told that I would have to pay a $5 upcharge because they were out of the cheaper cut of meat that was on the menu and would have to use Ribeye instead. That wasn't my fault, but I wasn't going to hassle the waitress over $5. When the dish arrived, the noodles were overcooked and looked like they had been tossed in mud. There was no distinguishable sauce. There was no seasoning on the noodles. I drowned them in salt and pepper; nothing helped. To their credit, the upcharged Ribeye was good. The birthday girl was not able to get her first menu choice. It was also out of stock???? So she ordered a Mahi Mahi diish sitting on a mound of what was supposed to be quinoa. The Mahi was overcooked and the quinoa literally tasted like nothing. It was disgusting. Two of our family members ordered the seafood gumbo. Both said that it was a watery unseasoned bowl of nothingness. They ordered $5 bowls of rice to eat with the gumbo. They said that it was undercooked. Who messes up rice???? My daughter ordered a kids meal for her 5 year old son. It was a mini cheeseburger with apple slices for $14. It literally sat on the wait counter for a good 10 to 15 minutes before it was brought out (we were seated with a view inside the kitchen). When it did come out, it was so tiny and dry, and was not enough food for even a 5 year old . Two of my other family members ordered the Orrechioette; again no seasoning. They left the fennel sausage off one plate. To add insult to injury. We were told at the end that there would be a 20% gratuity because we had a party of 8. There was no mention of a gratuity in the menu. You may be asking why we didn't send the food back, talk to management, or get up and leave. The answer is, I didn't want to spoil my daughter's 40th birthday. In spite of all, she had fun. We chalked this one up to experience. We paid the very expensive bill and left, still feeling very joyful for a new year and another birthday. This was their loss. We are good ❤️🙏🏾🙌🏾.

Went tonight with the hubby for my birthday dinner and the food and service did not disappoint! Emily was amazing to talk with and was on top of everything. She was even able to get the kitchen to make me a crème brulee to go 🥰 Thank you everyone at Mulberry House for an amazing meal and experience!

Food was good, but service was terrible. Waitress brought our drinks and didn’t come back for 30 minutes. No I’m sorry it’s taking so long; empty waters. Don’t go unless you have Buddha like patience and a couple hours to waste.

Me and my husband stopped by for a quick coffee and the barista, Mickey, was so helpful and kind, she gave us suggestions and answered all of our questions! The coffee was absolutely delicious.

Emily sold us on the crushed potatoes and they were great! She told us they were addicting, and they certainly are. She was a great waitress and the overall experience was excellent!

Emily was a wonderful server when we came for lunch! I enjoyed a chicken ranch wrap with a small bowl of the clam chowder. Will be back!

Great food and incredible cocktails. Their menu changes frequently and is always creative. Also a great coffee/pastry spot in the morning.
