During a recent trip to Bath, our friends were raving about a roof-top bar they had just been to in Washington, so we all headed over to The Mulberry House the following afternoon for drinks and apps. Their roof-top bar has great views (although retractable umbrellas would be a plus during the heat of the day) and the food is amazing. We dined in the lower level patio and had the Jalapeno Hummus (2 servings!), the Firecracker Shrimp and the Tuna Tartare. Everything was delicious and the staff was very accommodating and incredibly friendly. Abdalla was most attentive and made sure everything was perfect. Excellent service and amazing food!!

I'm a regular here.
I use the Mulberry House as a coffee house for working on my laptop, because 1) they have the best coffee in town, 2) you don't have to request a key to use the (always clean) restroom, 3) there are sufficient power outlets so that I can find a spot to plug in, and 4) the internet is reliable. The all the staff are professional, friendly, and competent - when I come in Kendall knows my regular order and is always on top of things. On top of that, there are always tasty snacks if you feel like going off diet. In the warmer months (and sometimes any month of the year, as winters are mild here) you can sit outside (where there are also a few power outlets for lap-toppers!) with a lovely view of the river, and an assortment of boats on the waterfront (I've attached a picture taken today (March 2) from my 'office'.
Occasionally, I'll eat breakfast at the Mulberry House - you can eat breakfast here for about the same price as the more typically local diners (Shep's Grill, Pam's Diner - both great local eateries in their own right), but you can also fancy it up and spend a bit more. Even with basic eggs, though, your plate is warmed before they plop the eggs on it. Classy! Lunch options are lovely as is dinner, I have only little experience with these, but the food was expertly prepared and tasty, the service professional and more sophisticated than you might expect from a rural town of this size.
I've yet to have the rooftop dining experience, but the view up there is by far the best in town, and I've heard nothing but great things about the dining up there. Sunset up on the roof is said to be amazing, looking out over the boats, river, and cypress trees on the far shore.
Additionally there is a bar and brewery (not yet brewing, but getting close) on first floor and another up on the roof. I've heard nothing but great things about both.
If I were going to take someone out for breakfast lunch or dinner in Washington and they only had time for one meal in town, this is absolutely the place I would take them. Did I mention good hours, and open on days that many other venues are closed?
Two thumbs up! - Steve T

You do not want to miss this amazing place. Best customer service!!! Great you as soon as you come in and ready to serve. Lovely people! Everyone has a smile on their faces, the atmosphere is filled with positivity and life. I got the sausage pasta and it is the best food I ever ever tasted. Even after I was full from the meal I still felt light lifted in my stomach. You will not regret eating here! Worth the price!! There is a patio up stairs where you can watch the sunset with some wine!! They even have a cigar patio off to the side. What a great way to relax after a meal!! This place and the people are truly divine, wouldn’t miss it for the world.

The service was wonderful. They were just attentive enough without being pushy but never left us unattended. My salmon was incredible! The tuna tartare was also very fresh and well seasoned. More tuna and a bit less rice would be perfect but it tasted incredible.

An oddity was that we ordered the tuna tartare apps and got our main entree without the apps first. I mentioned that we didn’t get them and came right away so I’m not sure if they forgot to bring it first, but honestly they were both so tasty and he was so cool about it, it’s not a big deal. But it was odd to have it all at once.

The one downside was the size of the spirits pour. My husband ordered an Old Elk on the rocks and it was $20 for 1.5 Oz pour. Considering a glass of Tempranillo was only $9 and my very full (and delicious) cocktail was $13, that’s truly not justifiable. I live in CO which is where Old Elk is made, and it’s very good but not $20 for a small pour good.

Overall I highly recommend and is a wonderful place to grab delicious food. :)

Excellent HEALTHY food! Fantastic customer service, by far the best coffee in town!
My daughter came in to visit from out of town for her birthday and when she tasted the dish she ordered, she had tears in her eyes because she said it lifted her soul ♥️
The owners have the most giving hearts. Truly inspiring and the roof top is the icing on the cake with the beautiful views and sunsets that steal the show 😎

Drinks were good as were the apps. However, our waiter “lost” our ticket so we never got our dinner order put in. So we never ate dinner. We didn’t receive any comp of our apps or drinks. And I am not sure the management knew of the error. We simply paid for our apps and drinks and left. We didn’t want to wait another 20 minutes on top of how long we had already waited. It’s really too bad as we enjoy Washington.

Great place! Wish we could've had dinner on the rooftop but still a great experience and all the staff we encountered were VERY nice and willing to help or explain anything and everything, which is pretty rare nowadays! Will definitely be back!

I love the architecture of inside and outside this building. I love that they also have 4 distinct areas! There's the rooftop, patio, café and your traditional bar! We sat at the bar and I love that the bartender instantly offered to start us with water! That's very clever! It bought us some time to figure out our drinks and to also decide on our food for the evening. The food was yummy but my most favourite part was the dessert from the café. I loved the Red velvet mini cake so much! I forgot to take a picture of how beautiful it was crafted, but she was delicious and I 10/10 recommend!

Not only a beautiful restaurant with an expansive menu, but a kind and uplifting atmosphere. The menu includes options for vegans and vegetarians, with plenty of GF options. Including GF buns for all their burgers. Decadent desserts and a full coffee counter (even at night) makes The Mulberry House nothing less than exceptional. Don’t forget to visit the rooftop for an after dinner cocktail!

Update: Stopped off for lunch… no specials. Downgraded them from 4 to 3 stars as the food quality continues downhill. I can see the kitchen staff from my table and they’re just amateurs slinging food onto a plate while they they socialize. No wonder the food quality is erratic.

Young & Dumb!!! The waitstaff & bar staff here are either older & professional or young & dumb!!!

I had the Shrimp & Grits… meal was slightly warm, which really took away from the experience. The dish was different, being a step away from the more traditional tomato chunk base. Not bad, but will not revisit this dish.

Previously I had Lamb with Risotto… incredible!!!

Pepper… the chef is an absolute genius with pepper. Subtle in the beginning then growing as the meal progresses, but never too much!!!

Good carrot cake… worth a visit.

Nice atmosphere!!!
