Service was attentive, friendly and fast. Atmosphere was pleasant. Fried eggs and poached eggs arrived hot and nicely cooked. Sausage and hash browns were barely over room temperature. We made a special effort to seek it out as it is the oldest restaurant in North Carolina, but would not do the same again.

We had the best brunch TWICE during our stay in chapel hill. The chef made bear pancakes with ears for our children and the food was delicious. Very friendly and prompt service from college students who clearly understood the heritage of the restaurant. Highly recommend.

I went here Saturday with some friends and it was such a great experience! I ordered the shrimp and grits, it was just “ok,” but my other friends ordered the French toast and pancakes and those were both amazing! I ordered a White Chocolate Gingerbread Latte and I can’t stop thinking about it. It was divine!!! That homemade whipped cream was INCREDIBLE!!! Will definitely be coming back!

Stopped here for breakfast on our way out of town and everything was so good! Quick service, yummy waffles, and good coffee.

We were excited about going here. It ended up being a disappointment. The pouch eggs were over cooked, the corn beef and hash had no hash. When I stated my dish did not have hash the wait person stated it is premixed. That is fine but both my mother and my corn beef and hash was literally a plate of corn beef. Then I had to inquire about other potatoes. It was just really bad. The service was not great but the food was worst. Never will I go again.

Great dinner format with nice breakfast menu and very friendly service. Had the eggs Benedict which was unique in that it shaved prosciutto included and a tasty sauce (picture below). All the plates were very reasonably priced. Great place to check out.

I came here a couple times as a student and a couple times when I came back to visit in the area with friends. Last year, I was driving through Chapel Hill on a long trip and stopped here for breakfast. As I was eating my breakfast at the bar, one of the staff came out of the kitchen into the bar area and took a picture of me just feet away. The flash went off on his phone. He wasn't expecting that and quickly went back into the kitchen with the phone. I informed the waiter of this and he apologized saying he would speak to the manager. I felt very awkward and uncomfortable for the rest of the meal. This experience really left a bad taste in my mouth. I'm not sure why this was done but I won't ever come back to this restaurant. As others have noted, the food is ok but the service is poor to say the least.

Enjoyed post game meal. Started with a delicious Spiced Cider cocktail. I got pulled pork sandwich. Daughter got impossible burger which she really liked. I think we realized we got regular fries instead of rosemary fries. To be fair didn't notice until mostly eaten and did not mention to waitress. Solid pub fare. Would return and recommend.
