The food was good (corn dog, quesadilla, and grilled buffalo chicken salad), but we waited over 30 minutes after we ordered and ended up getting our food to go because we were going to be late. Service was ok, but a smile would go a long way!

Food was good. But no one in the back handling food wore gloves. Your staff was huffing and puffing about bringing food to the customers outside. Walking back in and out from outside saying “ughhhh” loud enough for customers to here is not an ideal way to ensure to have people come back. And yes we ate here before the owners say we scammed them or didn’t eat here.

If you love mom and pop restaurants that have great service and food,, then the Box Car cafe is your place. This hidden jewel is off the main road, so be on the lookout for the signs. Eat and dance to the classics of the 50s. Could stay here all day and sing along to these great hits!

Tried this place in town before about 6 years ago and was not a fan. We went today and the food was much better! Great job. They were short staffed but still for a good job. We will definitely go back.

Took almost thirty minutes for two plain hotdogs for my kids because they forgot about us and left our food sitting. The food was cold when we did finally get it. Paying 15 dollars for two plain hotdogs and a drink and waiting 30 min, was not worth it.

Cute little cafe next to the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad with very good food!

I’ve eaten here a lot and always had great service from Martha and others.

The food wasn't bad but I was disturbed to see the employees without masks and employees handling food with no gloves. I feel wearing gloves preparing food is a standard in the food industry but an absolute requirement due to COVID. If I become COVID positive in the next week, I would put money on it coming from there.

Always great service from Martha. Order is always right. Great menu selection.

Ordered fish and chips with onion rings. Fish was over cooked and inedible. Onion rings were good. Iced vanilla coffee was so artificial tasting I could not drink.
