Boxcar Cafe and Cones, Inc.

We have been at Dr appointments all day and wanted a good satisfying meal... Unfortunately we did not find it here. My son ordered a personal pizza and was served a slice of soggy artificial cheese covered nastyness. I ordered loaded tots and they were soggy and greasy with no flavor. I would not recommend this to anyone and we will never be returning. Also they weren't wearing their masks over their faces and honestly I'm scared to eat it. We spent $40 on cafeteria food. So disappointed.

The food is delicious and Connie is the best!! She always delivers fast and with a smile on her face!!

Indifference and/or incompetence, I am not sure which to blame. Poor quality food. We're not sure the fries were made out of potatoes. I ordered fish and chips, but I was told they were out. They failed to offer a price change for the lower dollar menu item. They didn't give me a fork for my fry bread. Maybe the ice cream is better.

My family is local. All 3 of us decided to get the Boxcar burger ($5.95) and fries ($2.25). My daughter got a double cheeseburger which added an additional $3.75. The bill was over $30. So it is pricey for a small mom and pop restaurant. The food was good especially the fries. But I ordered my burger with slaw and got all the way home to see that it wasn't on my burger or in the bag. That was a disappointment considering how expensive it was. Our main concern was that the staff did not have masks or gloves on, not even while preparing the food. This is a tourist restaurant right next to the train so I am sure people from all over the country come here to visit and eat there. During Covid times, I feel they should wear masks and gloves and require masks for the customers. If my family comes down with the virus, I will know where we got exposed to it. The service from the cashier who I believe is the owner, wasn't the greatest. She seemed "put off". Maybe a bad day but I believe service with a smile goes a long way. We definitely won't be going back until after the pandemic for fear of exposure. Plus I can make burgers and fries at home for under $12. I understand that the prices are inflated because it is a tourist spot. But locals don't wanna pay outrageous prices for a burger joint.

Poor service, waited for my icecream while workers stood around. The burgers are large but bland, I expect excellent quality for the price I'm paying. The ice cream was ridiculously overpriced for such small servings. Would not reccomend.

I had the Rueben which tasted very good. Others in my party had burgers, hot dogs, baked potatoes and fish sandwiches and they all liked them. Food was fresh and tasty and the staff was friendly. They also have plenty of dessert options.

Quesadillas were really good, big enough for two. Tables outside are dog friendly.

Ordered 2 chef salads tonight. Was very disapointed to see mostly icebergs lettuce under all the egg, meat & cheese. I have ordered this salad before and had fresh red onion & spring mix for the greens. If I go back I will check be for I leave the cafe.

This was a place that looked like it had potential to be a good place to eat, but I was sadly disappointed! Between the no mask wearing employees to no one wiping down the tables, it was not a good experience. The food was okay, but definately not worth the price. If I am evet in the area again, I will not be back here!!

And before the owner puts a snarky comment about me not saying anything, I didn't want to say anything and cause a scene. Plus, the internet says it all!!!

Stopped here before the train for a quick bite. The food was average but the atmosphere was very cute and family friendly!
