Excellent dinner. We had the hot chicken, which was very unique and flavorful, and the catfish. Small place so make sure you get reservations.

Absolutely wonderful! My husband and I (55ish) like to try new things. At first I was looking at the menu and wondered if it all was going to be good. But my husband ordered the fried green tomatoes with a unique pimento cheese. Definitely, would get that one again. Soup, cornbread, collards, etc. Awesome! It all works! Got to try this little gem in Boone! 🤩

Proper was my favorite place to go for a nice dinner when I was in college at ASU. I'm happy to say the food has gotten even better since then while remaining affordable! Our server Hannah was amazing and offered some wonderful recommendations. I'm still dreaming about their peach cobbler.

Excellent southern cuisine!! Super-friendly and accommodating staff!! Ethan offered very helpful guidance and recommendations! My husband and I both ordered side salads for our starters, and they were fresh and the dressing was delicious. For our entrées, my husband ordered the fried catfish, collard greens and the green beans. I ordered the fried chicken breast, mashed potatoes, and collard greens. Every single morsel was absolutely delicious! All of the dishes were top notch, and the collard greens alone are worth the visit! For dessert, we had Key-lime pie and raspberry crème brûlée. The pie was authentic… the custard the perfect balance of tart/sweet and the crust was buttery-yum mines… and the crème brûlée was the best either of us had ever tasted! Nothing was greasy or overly seasoned… you could taste the flavors of the food. So enjoyable! The chicken was crunchy and moist… the catfish was crispy and clean-tasting! The prices are amazingly reasonable for the quality and value of the food. The ability to execute outstanding course components consistently is pretty rare! And, to add that the overall experience delivered on all aspects is exceptional! What a gem!

The Sunday brunch is to die for. Their quiche, sweet bacon and home potatoes are amazing. Highly recommended

I've been here a few times and the food is always delicious and staff is friendly. Definitely one of my go to spots when I'm in Boone for work!
